We Have a 2017 Cadillac ATS-V, What Do You Want to Know About It?

Courtesy of the fine folks at General Motors and Cadillac, a 2017 Cadillac ATS-V was dropped off at our office with a note that said something to the effect of: “Have fun, we think you’ll enjoy it.”

The baby V features a twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine making 464 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. Our initial test drive showcases a very linear power delivery and great tractability (read: it puts the power down no problem, even in first gear).

This particular ATS-V is pretty much loaded, featuring the Carbon Black package, which includes the carbon fiber aero bits, black trim and Recaro competition seats; the Luxury Package with heads-up display, nav and all of the interior goodies; Performance Data Recorder (which is awesome); the gold Brembo brakes, wide black wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport performance street rubber, and crucially: a 6-speed manual transmission, with no-lift shift.

So, we have this fine looking automobile for a week, what do you want to know about it?

Jake Stumph is a lifelong car enthusiast and racer, and former content editor for Internet Brands Automotive which he joined in 2015. His work has been featured by several other prominent automotive outlets, including Jalopnik and Autobytel.

He obtained a bachelor's degree in Political Science at the Ohio State University in 2013, then pivoted from covering politics and policy to writing about his automotive adventures, something that, he says, is a lot more fun. Since that time, he has established connections with most of the world's major automakers, as well as other key brands in the automotive industry.

He enjoys track days, drifting, and autocross, at least, when his cars are running right, which is uncommon.
