Owner, Alex Lawn, has built two SEMA cars, both which were Camaros. His next Chevy build will feature the C8. We are liking what we see.

Well, its finally happened. The aftermarket finally caught up with Corvette and now we have a bagged widebody C8. Some would say its about time.

We have to say that we are pleasantly surprised with the end result. The C8 is certainly captivating in stock form, it has some of the best body lines on any new car.

So what happens when you widen the car by 3 inches in the front and 5 inches in the rear? Well, the body lines get a lot crazier. Thanks to Driving Cody on YouTube we get to share this awesome C8 build with you guys.

The owner of the car is long-time Chevy man, Alex Lawn, who has stayed true to the brand since his first car purchase of a new 5th gen Camaro at 18 years old. He owned that vehicle for 6 years and it ended up at SEMA 2017.

Alex would then go on to purchase another Camaro, this time a 2019 model, which he still owns. So what brought him eventually to the C8?

Well, he wanted to do something special for his next project and after seeing how much of a stunner the C8 was, he was sold. “I actually ordered three of the Corvettes just to see which one would come in first from a dealership” Alex said.

If that isn’t going all-in, I don’t know what is. Alex actually ended up finding another Corvette sooner that almost fit every one of the options he wanted.

The car ended up being a black 3LT Z51 with Chestnut-colored Napa leather interior. Ideally, Alex preferred black on black, but this time he decided to concede for the sake of time.

We don’t mind the two-tone interior at all, especially with the alcantara steering wheel the overall package works for us.

Since the plan from day one was to widebody the car, Alex got on the mission right away. Popular Southern California tuning house, LTMW, would take on the task of getting the build done.

Since this build is amongst the first to be completed, there was some patience required to see the process through for the modifications.

The car needed to be lazer scanned and then a 3D model was built to the exact specifications of the vehicle in order to mold the widebody to the specific car. This process took about 2 months.

Once they received the completed kit directly from Pandem, there was another 2 months or so of work from LTMW to get the car fitted with the kit.

Not to mention, building the wheels next door at LD97. Those happen to be 19×9.5 in the front and 20×12 in the rear with a 325 section-width Toyo R888R.

We’d say for this end result, that was a pretty damn good turnaround. The car really looks straight out of Need for Speed game.

Alex stated that “this car, regardless, body kit or not, turns heads” and we are going to have to agree. He loves the shape of the C8, stating “I still love seeing C8’s when I see one on the freeway I always like to stare at them.”

So what could possibly be the next thing in line for this amazing looking C8? Well, according to Alex, forced induction is on his mind.

A goal Alex had set in mind with an eventual build was to “have a dyno sheet that says 1000 WHP”. What better car to do so with then a Corvette?

So would you agree with Alex that “it’s just a hell of a platform. Honestly, in my opinion, the best car you can buy under 100 grand these days”?

We are going to have to say yes. More widebody C8s please!
