Camaro SS Callaway Hendrick Edition is the last of just 25 produced to celebrate a special occasion.

With each epic Barrett-Jackson auction, a number of generous folks, the auction house and eager fans come together to raise money for various deserving charities, all facilitated by the sale of multiple cool vehicles. This year’s Houston auction was no exception to that rule, and it also featured a very unique and very cool charity sale involving this Camaro SS Callaway Hendrick Edition, which hammered for a whopping $250,000.

This 2010 Chevy Camaro SS Callaway Hendrick Edition was built to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hendrick Motorsports and this one,  car number 25 of that tiny lot, was the last one produced. That obviously makes it extra special, but all of the proceeds from this sale also went directly to Operation Homefront, a San Antonio-based nonprofit dedicated to helping military families thrive in the communities they work to protect.

This Camaro SS Callaway Hendrick Edition cranks out 582 horsepower and 546 pound-feet of torque thanks to its bevy of upgrades including a TVS2300 supercharger system, high-flow intake system, and low-restriction exhaust system. The result is a 0-60 time of just 3.9 seconds, while the tuner ride can complete the quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds at 120 mph as the driver rows through the six-speed manual gearbox.

Perhaps more importantly, this special car also benefitted a special cause. For over 20 years, Operation Homefront – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit -has been providing financial assistance, housing, and family support programs to military families in need. “We’re proud to come together with our collector car community in support of our nation’s military veterans,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, in a recent press statement.

“Over the years, we have helped raise more than $148 million for charitable organizations. The generosity of our consignors, like Michelle Mauzy, who donated the 2010 Callaway/Hendrick Edition Camaro, is immeasurable. The sale of the Camaro will be an incredible opportunity to effect change in lives of those who need our help the most.”
