2015 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss Edition

Midsize pickups are growing in popularity again in the United States, and Chevrolet is leading the charge with the Colorado.

Currently, if you’re someone who likes to go off the beaten path, the Z71 package was for you. Now, there’s an upgrade. Check out the Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Trail Boss!

In addition to the regular Z71 goodies, the Trail Boss comes with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac all-terrain tires and special 17″ wheels.

Like the GearOn concept shown in Chicago, the Chevy bowtie logos are black on the front and rear, along with the fender flares.

The Trail Boss has the G80 automatic locking rear differential, a transfer case shield on 4WD models, front recovery hooks, and a spray-on bed liner.

Some GearOn accessories are included as well, including moveable cargo tie-down rings, load bar, and a cargo divider.

The Trail Boss package adds $3,320 to the $28,505 starting price for the Colorado Z71. It goes on sale later this spring.

I’m hoping that this sells well, because I really want Chevrolet to put the ZR2 Colorado into production. With strong sales of other off-road packages, General Motors might be convinced to put this bad boy into production.

If you want to check out the 2015 Colorado Z71 Trail Boss before it hits dealerships, be sure to visit the Cleveland Auto Show.
