Genuinely Driveable (and Cool) LS-powered Supercars: Track Time Tuesday

Supercars employ the most cutting-edge innovations to boost output; but it is the LS-platform that really brings the muscle.

There seems to be no limit to the supercars and hypercars being rolled out. And by no limit, we mean both the number of cars on the scene; as well as their capabilities. They are always interesting, these supersonic rides with jaw-dropping speeds. But–if we’re being completely honest–sometimes they are just a wee bit completely insane. Did anyone really need a 600 hp Nissan Juke-R Nismo? Who exactly is taking a 5,000 hp Devel Sixteen to Trader Joe’s?

Not that insane is a bad thing, mind you. Madness and genius do tend to go hand-in-hand. Chances are that some of the engineering and tech these companies utilize are likely to inspire new and practical innovations in other cars. Rides that aren’t out of the stratosphere financially and practically.

Unsurprisingly, the supercars that get it right for us, do tend to be the ones that strike the balance of new with the tested-and-true. As for the latter, when it comes to unflinchingly reliable, few engines can touch the LS-series. A number of these exotic supercars wisely chose Chevy’s small-block to reach new, jaw-dropping levels of speed, power, and yes–pure muscle.
