Holy UTE BATMAN! A 577 Horsepower Holden UTE
A few months ago, GM released that it would be shuddering their Holden operations in Australia. Well it seems that Holden didn’t quite get the memo and decided to release something truly awesome and scary, a 577 horsepower Ute.
For those that don’t know what a Ute is, think El Camino or Ranchero. Essentially, it’s a car with a pickup truck bed. The trend was lost here in the States around the mid to late 70’s, but Australia kept the tradition and awesomeness going.
Now Holden has announced that it plans on building the craziest Ute ever to come out of the factory! The rumor is that the new Ute will use a LSA tuned by Holden’s in-house tuners HSV. These are the same guys that built the amazing sounding Bathurst Edition of the G8 we had in the States.
Due to the fact that Holden will cease Australian production soon, the car will only be built on the order of 150 cars total. And be hella expensive, like $80,000 expensive. I don’t know about you, but I want one. But I also don’t want to pay $80k for new a El Camino.
