The Land Rover Defender is perhaps one of the coolest off-road vehicles on the planet. The sharp lines, and ability to plough through just about everything is so perfect, it’s very hard to make the truck better. That however didn’t stop Kahn Design when they debuted what they call the “Flying Hunstman.”

This Defender has been thoroughly modified to not only be a better everyday car, but to be able to smash through the sound barrier as well thanks to a GM sourced LS3.

In the Flying Huntsman, the engine produces 450 horsepower and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. In order to cope with all that new rumble, the Defender’s brakes and suspension have been also modified.

One attribute that is a bit hit or miss depending on who you talk to is the extra 15-in of sheet metal Kahn had to put into the Defender to fit the LS.

I’m not so sure about it after looking at the truck for the last few hours that it was really needed. Look at what Bowler did with the Wildcat, which essentially did the same thing, and they didn’t have to extend the hood that much.

The base price for one of these Defender’s will be around $190,000, but Kahn hasn’t released if they will be selling it in the U.S. just yet.
