Laffite X-Road Is an LS3-powered, All-terrain Supercar

L.A.-based specialty automaker is bringing forth a limited-production vehicle for a completely novel automotive segment.

Wondering what wacky vehicle you can put an LS3 into now? Well, we would like to introduce you to the Laffite Supercars. This relatively new specialty automaker was established in 2017. The minds between this company is professional race car driver Bruno Laffite and his wife Laetitia Laffite. According to their website, the company specializes in “automotive design and the creation of concept car/road ready limited series.” To be honest, we aren’t sure exactly what that implies, but we can understand that these cars are special.

The brand is based out of Los Angeles and seemingly, if you have enough money, they will build you just about whatever you want. As their thing is without a doubt low-production race-inspired builds, we understand this. Currently, the company is only offering two vehicles, the all-terrain “supercar” named the X-Road and the street legal prototype racer named the X-24. Why are we interested in the former of the two? Well, this buggy-looking supercar is powered by an LS3, so it must be good. Let’s talk about it a bit.

The X-Road is kind of unlike any other car we have ever seen. We honestly aren’t sure exactly what function it is suppose to serve. It doesn’t look particularly fun to take on a road course, but it also doesn’t look like you’d want to take something this expensive off-roading either. The X-Road is a limited production vehicle, only 30 will be made according to the website. Supposedly, this is the first of its class in a new segment they have dubbed “All-Terrain Supercar”.

The interior looks very modern and damn near futuristic. This might be due in part to the fact that these pictures are CGI and not actual production photos. It doesn’t seem that there are any actual photos of the interior quite yet. However, the exterior is without a doubt unlike anything we have ever seen. Not exactly a buggy, not exactly a supercar? It is an interesting take. We think that the only way to really understand one of these cars would be to drive one. Who else would be interested in seeing something like that? We’ll see what we can do on our end.
