Hardcore no-prep Camaro ZL1 campaigned by Ryan Martin packs ProCharger fist, punches classic Nova in the face for the win.

How much power is enough power for a Camaro ZL1? The 6.2-liter LT1 V8 delivers 650 horses and torque to the rear, all thanks to the supercharger on top. For most, that’s plenty of power for any situation. However, some can’t help but figure out how to get more out of the LT4. For them the sky is the limit.

And then, there are those who go beyond the atmosphere into space itself. Ryan Martin is one such individual. Recently, Autoevolution (via the National No Prep Association) took notice of Martin’s newest dominator, a new Camaro ZL1 with untold power.

While towing a Chevy Spark around the pits, Martin and his crew were caught by the owner of the “Murder Nova” himself, Shawn Ellington. As Autoevolution says, the early Seventies machine’s been dominating the No Prep Kings scene. Thus, Ellington saw a new opportunity to put away another competitor in Martin.

Of course, Martin also has something Ellington would like: the No Prep Kings Championship title. Martin would love to keep said title; thus, he tapped Bill Gilsbach to build him a beast more powerful than his “Fireball Camaro,” a monster with 4,500 twin-turbo horses. The result? A ProCharged Camaro ZL1 whose output remains unknown as of this post, but clearly more than enough to go toe-to-toe with the Nova.

Though the crowd was more in Ellington’s court at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio, Martin had nothing to worry about. As soon as the lights went green, the ProCharged Camaro ZL1 blew away the old Nova in around three seconds. The grudge race was untimed, so we don’t know how quickly the new Camaro went down the eighth-mile. We can only imagine what it would do on the quarter-mile, though.

All in all, Martin’s newest machine will definitely give him a chance to keep his title as the King of the No Preps. We certainly can’t wait to hear how much power lives under the Camaro ZL1’s hood. Not to mention its E.T.s
