Ride Along Virtually in Shannon Campbell’s Ultra4 Buggy
Getting the opportunity to ride or drive an 800-horsepower off-road buggy would be the thrill of a lifetime. Heck, it’s on my very own personal bucket list. However, unless you’re BJ Baldwin, or friends with him and his crew, the chances of you getting that ride are fairly slim. Even for me, those chances are pretty slim. However, the folks over at Nitto don’t want you to be cheated from the experience. That’s why they came up with one of the neatest camera rigs around to give you an unprecedented ride along.
Using a 7-camera rig, that shoots in full 4k and has a range of 360-degress, the system allows you to have unlimited camera movement from inside the cockpit of Shannon Campbell’s Ultra4 off-road buggy. Additionally, you can control that movement with the touch of your mouse, meaning, while Shannon is spanking the buggy around the off-road track, you can control what you’re look at.
It’s a pretty impressive set up and one that will definitely take the medium up a notch. Oh yeah, Nitto is also already hard at work creating another video like this. Except it will be in the cockpit of a Formula Drift car. Get excited.
