This slick 1967 Camaro features modern mechanicals and a timeless but subdued appearance.

As most are well aware, the 1967 Camaro represented the very first model year for Chevy’s iconic muscle car, one that has endured some challenging times over the past several decades. But while the Camaro may once again be facing the prospect of going away altogether, that doesn’t diminish the gorgeous first-gen model one bit, and arguably, has made it even stronger. But while the legendary 1969 model garners all the hype, we’d be perfectly happy cruising around in this pristine 1967 Camaro restomod built by the folks at Ironworks Speed & Kustom out of Bakersfield, California.

Dubbed “Fairway 67,” this smooth 1967 Camaro looks fantastic on the outside thanks to a mostly OEM appearance that has been highlighted with a few accents, including yellow-tinted headlights and fog lights, along with a modern Bow Tie in the grille, all of which accent the refrigerator white exterior perfectly.

The first-gen Camaro sits just right thanks to a Speedtech Performance Extreme subframe, rear torque arm, and RideTech adjustable coilovers at all four corners, which hunker the car down over a set of attractive RB1 forged monoblock 19-inch wheels measuring 11 inches wide in the front and 12.5 inches in the rear, which are wrapped with sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires measuring 305/30 and 325/30. Those wheels also cover some rather large Wilwood 14-inch disc brakes at each corner, providing plenty of stopping power.

The interior has received an overhaul as well, with driver and passenger nested in new Corbeau carbon fiber racing seats with Impact racing harnesses, a Sparco steering wheel sitting in front of Dakota Digital gauges, and a roll cage providing some extra protection if things go horribly wrong.

For power, Ironworks sourced a 6.2-liter LT4 V8 crate engine for this build, which is factory rated at an even 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Packed with goodies including an Eaton 1.7 L R1740 TVS supercharger, long tube headers, a dry-sump oiling system, an aluminum radiator, and a Wegner serpentine accessory drive, the modern powerplant sends its juice to the rear wheels via a Bowler T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission and a custom 9-inch rear end.

Altogether, Fairway 67 is easily one of the nicest first-year Camaros we’ve come across in some time, but it’s just one of many cool custom builds from Ironworks, which cranks them out on a seemingly regular basis.
