Ripping Trailblazer: This 5,000-pound SUV Runs 10s

With a blower and a built 393 cubic-inch V8, this all-wheel drive SS gets more than groceries.

YouTuber Big Kleib34 calls this 2007 Trailblazer SS “the definition of FAST.” We’re not sure which definition of “FAST” he’s talking about, but we feel inclined to agree.

If he means the SS runs very rapidly, we will definitely agree.

And if he means the drag-racing class acronym “Factory Appearing Stock Tire,” we can buy that, too. Maybe not the “stock tire,” but this SUV doesn’t look terribly different from the one used to fetch groceries by Betty down the street. (Yeah, yeah, we know FAST is a muscle-car class. It’s only an example.)

Spotted at Holley LS Fest, this big ‘Blazer really gets down the track. The owner tells BigKleib that he’s run 10.7 before. After watching it gobble up the track, we know we wouldn’t want to argue with an 800 horsepower, all-wheel drive, 5,100 pound quarter-mile monster.

The engine work includes a 393 cubic-inch displacement from the LS engine with a Procharger adding a healthy dose of power. The 4L80E transmission runs upgraded internals, as does the front differential. That’s no fooling around, but the driver can live in comfort with amenities like air conditioning. Let’s see your LS-swapped, 12-second Chevelle do that.

As if that’s not awesome enough, the driver can’t seem to hook the Trailblazer tires up too well on that particular day. While that won’t get it down track better, it will give the spectacle of four wheels generating smoke at the same time.

The drag passes in the video are all under 11 seconds, too. It’s not exactly a bracket car…err, truck, but we figure this maroon SUV is primed to hurt some feelings from time to time.
