Trans Am Racing Series Adds Venues and Partners for 2013

The continually evolving Trans Am Racing Series will make another leap forward in 2013 with the addition of three more events, bringing the total up to 11. The series will also partner with SVRA (the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) to sponsor and showcase vintage racing at several of the venues.

When Trans Am Racing, LLC took on the series in partnership with SCCA in 2011 it marked yet another development in the racing series which had become far less high profile in recent years. However, the success of the past few seasons has given the long-standing series, started in 1966, a boost.

For 2013, the series will hit Daytona, Sebring, and Virginia on top of the same list of venues from last year, with a final new addition still to be announced. The series has already seen several highlights since it’s reboot, including Amy Ruman’s historic win in 2011 in her McNichols Co., Goodyear, and Cenweld Corp C6 Corvette.

For 2012, Simon Gregg took the Trans Am class championship in his Gregg Motorsports Corvette, while Amy Ruman followed closely on his heels. Bob Stretch took the Trans Am 2 championship in his Camaro.
