Turbocharged LS1 Donuts are a Masterpiece

LS1 Donuts

When we see this video, it makes us very, very happy. Though back in the day there were fans of the rotary engine in the RX-7, there was a group — of equal or greater size than the rotary enthusiasts, for sure — that saw the RX-7 not as a JDM vehicle on the streets in western civilization, but rather as lightweight car that could easily and willingly have a massive V8 thrown under the hood.

It just seems natural that this trend would continue on with the RX-7 successor — the RX-8!

And what do you do with a small Japanese car with a massive LS1 under the hood? Well, you grab a friend to videotape and then go and spin some donuts! This white RX-8 sounds amazingly sweet with the engine purring as it twists and turns. What more could one ask for?

We’re sure that these V8 enthusiasts will continue to take on any of the future Mazda rotary cars as well, and prove that a bigger engine is, indeed, better. And with the recent rumors of a very tiny rotary coupe coming out in 2020, it might not be that far in the future either!

Check out the video below and enjoy watching (and hearing!) this perfect LS1-powered RX-8 in action!
