Vengeance Racing Builds Monster LSX-powered Fifth-gen Camaro

Modded ride’s 440 cubic-inch engine delivers over 1,600 horsepower to the rear tires!

The mad men of Georgia-based tuner Vengeance Racing know their way around the LS engine, having used the platform for the basis of many insane projects. Whether it’s a customer car or one of their own, Vengeance Racing can deliver the LS-powered goods, and then some.

And then some they did. Their latest video shows off what they’ve done for their client, Joe Miceli, who wanted his fifth-gen Camaro to annihilate the quarter-mile with tons of turbo power under the hood. The results will blow you away.

According to the video’s description, this Camaro build is based around a 440 cu in LSX paired with a twin set of Precision 76/75 turbos and Vengeance Racing’s own custom air-to-water turbo system. Other bits include exhaust cutouts which can be opened or closed from inside the cabin via the ProEFI engine management system, 15-inch disc brake conversion, and a dry sump oil system.

Twin-Turbo LSX Camaro

The twin-turbo Camaro can be as quiet as a stock Camaro on the street, then open the cutouts on the strip to reveal the monster lurking under the hood. And what a monster it is. On the dyno, the LSX explodes with such raw power, the side pipes briefly belch fire. The result on the dyno is equally badass: 1,611 rear-wheel horsepower with 40 psi of boost on E85.

With a parachute attached to the rear, the fire-breathing Camaro rolls out of the trailer to deliver a howling burnout to the asphalt of the strip of Carolina Dragway in Aiken, South Carolina. The Camaro then roars off the line with 25 psi of boost and a foot brake off-idle launch, resulting in a time of 8.86 at 163 mph. Vengeance Racing once again lives up to its name with this insane LSX build.
