Z/28 and Boss 302 Tangle at Milford Proving Grounds

This video was put out by Chevy, so they’re obviously going to be biased, but numbers don’t lie. In terms of raw performance, the Camaro Z/28 stomps all over the Boss 302. Sorry Ford fanboys.

Really, though that shouldn’t come as surprise to anyone. The new Camaro is a showcase of GM’s modern race-bred engineering, while the Mustang’s current platform is more than a little long in the tooth. It never really had a chance.

What will be interesting is how the next generation Boss 302 compares to the current crop of Camaros. They’ll have a bit of an advantage in development time (like the Camaro does now), but they’ll also be on much more even footing. Mustang’s are getting IRS in 2015 which is a pretty big deal.

For now though, Z/28 is shining in it’s well deserved spotlight. Hail to the king baby.
