Talking Finally in the 11's

Last fall the ringland on #7 failed. After hating life over the winter I was able to drop the motor in April and finally finished getting the car running again mid August.

Here's a list of what I did...

Motor
-Forged 347 ~9.2:1
-stock crank
-diamond -2cc pistons
-callies rods
-PRC LQ9 Stage 2.5 heads
-LS6 oil pump
-ARP Main/Head studs
-Custom cam from Futral Motorsports
-3.4" blower pulley, ~12# with D1SC

Drivetrain
-PY3400 stall
-FLT 4l60E Level 5
-PST Aluminum driveshaft
-Moser 9" with 3.50 gears

Fuel System
-Dual intake pumps
-8an feed line
-6an return line
-new fuel rails
-Boost referenced fuel pressure regulator

Exhaust
-3" true duals over the axle
-59959 Magnaflow cats
-6" x 14" Magnaflow mufflers

Suspension
-Koni 4/3 shocks
-Strano Springs
-Strano hallow sway bars
-UMI Race k-member
-UMI upper panhard bar
-UMI adjustable Panhard bar
-UMI double adjustable LCA
-UMI adjustable Torque Arm
-UMI torque arm relocation transmission mount

Wheels/Tires
-TTm Anthracite 17x9 front 17x10.5 rear
-Nitto 555R 315/35/17 rear
-BFG KDW 275/40/17 front

Performance

Dyno run (converter locked)

Sorry, I forgot to ask for the uncorrected numbers.

A couple of passes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxvMIpDJRc0

Yes I know my launches/reaction times suck, everyone except my mother have commented on that.

My best run so far is 11.64 @ 122, 1.838 60' with a DA of ~8000ft

Things I've considered:
-The new wheels added quite a bit of weight/rotational mass.
-Launching with the 555Rs is tricky.
-3.50 gears are probably not the best for the drag strip but that's fine since it's 99% a street car
-Due to very high intake temps the car pulls timing. I need to either put on a methanol kit or spray nitrous. That will be my project over the winter.

Thanks for reading!

That DA is costing you a bit, Congrats on getting (deep) into the 11's.

I haven't seen much of a drop in IAT's with the nitrous (75 shot and curious why) my IAT's seem to be the same whether I run meth only or both.

I hate the altitude here. Weird that you aren't seeing a drop, from what I've read either is a great way to drop the temps. I'm going to have to figure out a way to mount my intake IAT sensor since right now it's mounted before where I'd spray/inject.

yeah, mine relocated to the intake manifold. On my last 1/4 mile runs I logged 113*-152* IAT spraying meth and the 75 shot at `175kPa, ambient was 85*.

What's your intercooler setup?

I'm seeing ~170 degree IAT's on with ambient of 85... I have the twin intercooler setup ATI sells for f-bodies which obviously is not enough. I have no desire to put a front mount on though.

Radix SC with stock intercooler (mounted under the roots type blower-no upgrades available) with an Magnuson (CTS-V style) 24"x14.5x1" front mounted heat XR. The meth is controlled by and AlkyControll kit and a 75 shot for the track.
On the street my IAT's are just a bit lower.

btw that's a killer pic!

Hell, I don't know. I didn't even mess with them.

I'd have to ask my buddy what we set them to when we put them on the car.

I was in kind of a hurry to get the car running and figured I'd put time into playing with the shock settings later.

Are you refering to me??

I know your rears are full soft.
I didn't help with the fronts. I need to go adjust mine though...

Yes. That's what I thought about the rears. I need to figure out how to adjust the fronts, I can't remember what I set them to.

2.5mm allen wrench.

Stiff bastards though...still haven't moved mine because of that. I need to get better leverage on it...the small allen wrench isn't enough for me.

Add roughly a second. It is more sometimes.

Grand Junction's track is 5300 feet if I recall.
At Bandimere (in Denver) I am yet to run with a DA under 7000.

Tell me about it.
I make 531RWHP (SAE corrected) and tend to run 11.9-12.1 spinning.
The lack of air really effects the N/A cars here.

2900 pounds?? Impressive. My fat pig weighs 3600.
