12's with a stock LS1 in what kinda car !?!?
Hello everyone, I just thought I would introduce myself (Henry) and my car Christine to everyone else in the 12 second family.
Christine is a 1978 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 2 door Coupe. As far as I know (I could be wrong) Christine is the only 1977-1979 Chevrolet Caprice 2-Door Coupe to be LS1 Powered.
Stock 1998 Trans Am LS1/ TH350
New personal best of 12.74 @ 104 mph

Here is a video of my 12.7 pass at KCIR.

Congrats on hitting the 12's. And since you said it, what does that tank weigh in at? I learned to drive in a 4-door 79' with a 305 that couldn't get out of its own way. But it was rocking the same rally's you've got atleast, lol.

I think with a tank of gas, and me in it (I'm around 190-200 lbs) it is close to 4,000 lbs or so.

Nice times for a Caprice!! So the LS1 is in the Caprice and out of a Trans Am, right? What gears are in it? Is it a posi? My first car was a 1966 Caprice with a 327/powerglide in it lol in 1971!

I take a liking to B-bodies, particularly wagons but I like the coupes as well. I wanted my neighbor's '85 Navy metallic Caprice coupe for as long as I could remember. Making something like this move like a bat outta hell must be quite satisfying.

I love taking her to the track and people start seeing the numbers its turning in such a large old car with its stock 98 LS1. It seems to always draw a crowd whenever I pop the hood (Im guessing its from the "Wow that almost looks factory...but why the hell did the owner put it in this old boat" type factor.), even at Mustang events.
