When comparing runs from different days you should always keep up with the DA. It could make alot of difference. Though I doubt that's your problem if would be one less variable.
i dont remember my exact shift points but it shifts at end of yellow and then a little into red and right after 1/4 i am high in rpms if i were to keep on it it would shift into 4th

how do i find out the da? What is da?

You mean it shifts right at 6000? You should be shifting closer to 7000 with that cam.

DA = density altitude. Here is a decent calculator http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php For every 1000' of DA is about a tenth of difference in your time (roughly).

Did you change your auto shift points?

Check your dyno graph and see where your cam peeks power at. Stock cams peak jus tbefore 6k ish. The new cam will be more like 6400 or so. So you will really benefit MPH and ET wise from shifting at the right points.

I'm not sure about the yellow and red because my tach doesn't have that. You should just go out and look at the thing and see where the numbers are at. Because the colors don't help! Lol

I shift around 6500 with an MS3 cam which I believe is close in specs to yours. What RPM was you peak HP at on your dyno?

before peak power?

Input your info into a shift calculator. That will give you a good idea. It's all about the average power for the gear. If you shift too early you won't have as much power in the start of the next gear. Shift too late and you may have wasted more power down low than you see up top.

Tach might say 6300, but the engine will actually get higher than that before it actually shifts.

6600 shift is a bit high IMO

It's the one second from the bottom " HP / Optimum Shifting Point Calculation "

Just enter your transmission gear ratios (3.06, 1.63, 1.00, 0.70) and your hp values. It seems to work better if you use 500rpm increments. And it will tell you where it needs to be shifted in every gear.

i tried

Bowling's Optimum Shift Calculator
Input Parameters Are the Following:
Transmission Ratio One = 3.06 to 1
Transmission Ratio Two = 1.63 to 1
Transmission Ratio Three = 1.00 to 1
Transmission Ratio Four = 0.70 to 1
Horsepower = 115 at 2000 RPM
Horsepower = 174 at 3000 RPM
Horsepower = 225 at 3500 RPM
Horsepower = 255 at 4000 RPM
Horsepower = 290 at 4500 RPM
Horsepower = 325 at 5000 RPM
Horsepower = 365 at 6000 RPM
Horsepower = 365 at 6500 RPM
Computation Results:
Using the Criterion for Maintaining the Same Horsepower Before and After Shift:
Finding Best Shift Placement Points For Ratio 3.06 to 1.63: Error: Search outside range - need more RPM range in HP table! Finding Best Shift Placement Points For Ratio 1.63 to 1.00: Error: Search outside range - need more RPM range in HP table! Finding Best Shift Placement Points For Ratio 1.00 to 0.70: Error: Search outside range - need more RPM range in HP table!

Maximumizing the Area Under the Horsepower Curve:
Finding Best Shift Placement Points For Ratio 3.06 to 1.63:

Found optimum shift RPM at 6495, which achieves maximum area under horsepower curve, and lowers the RPM to 3460 after shift
Finding Best Shift Placement Points For Ratio 1.63 to 1.00:

Found optimum shift RPM at 6496, which achieves maximum area under horsepower curve, and lowers the RPM to 3985 after shift
Finding Best Shift Placement Points For Ratio 1.00 to 0.70:

Found optimum shift RPM at 6493, which achieves maximum area under horsepower curve, and lowers the RPM to 4545 after shift
