Default 4150 Throttle Body Gains??

I have a Vic Jr. setup on my car, with a low profile elbow, not the ultra low. looking to run a speed density tune with a 4150 Accufab or something simular. Car pulls hard now but im thinking with a TB change it will wake up alot. Im running a adapter with a stock ported throttle body right now, im just trying to decide to sell the elbow and get the 4150 or just buy a Janzter 95mm or something. its a 11.75:1 375ci 6.0l with PRC Stg. 2.5 5.3l heads with a ms4 cam. What kind of gains you think i would get out of just a 4150 tb change?

Its going to come down to how you feed the 4150.

Go to a Janzter 95 and chances are you will have issues with it like all the other customers who bought them did.

I offer a Wilson 95mm TB if you want to go that route ($385 to your door). Not a cheap imitation rip off by Janzter.

Edelbrock throttle body is as plug and play as you get with 4150 throttle body, uses Delphi IAC motor and TPS. Need a throttle cable from 86 blazer.

I was looking into using the Fast 4150 TB with an Edelbrock Supper Victory intake because it flows 1350cfm. How do you guys think this will perform and is it as user friendly as the Edelbrock piece? Also, how do you hookup the MAP sensor when the intake has no prevision for it? Sorry if this is considered hijacking.

I would like to learn about these setups.

As I understand it, the setup shown has a four barrel throttle body between the elbow and the intake manifold.

The other way to do it is the elbow directly on the manifold with a stock style throttle body in the inlet tube just after the air filter.

Do I have this correct?

Which method is better, or produces more power?

The intake has holes tapped for npt hose nipples, or you can drill and install your own.

all you need is a 1/4" hose nipple with a vacuum line going to the MAP sensor.

Yeah i just drilled the intake on each side under the "carb" flange on the intake and ran one to my hvac and the other to my map. i was un-aware of problems with the janzter, didnt really look them up i just knew for a 95mm they had a good lookin reasonable priced throttle body. i really want to run a 4150 ive noticed that most are around $520.00 or so.

The intake is really whats holding me back i think, the car pulls extremely hard but i think it should pull harder than it does. i think with the throttle body upgrade a SD tune it should go like hell.

Was thinking about getting a pin on sunoco hood and fabbing up some kind of filter setup that fits in the cowl and sucks air by using the cowl instead of using the stock air box. if thats possible/easy enough for me to do. or just not running a filter, this car is drivin on the street but not often its no daily by no means more like cruising on the weekends once or twice a week if its nice out.

Monte dont worry about thread hi-jackin im tryin to learn as much as i can too lol

Bpowell thats a good looking set-up may do a carb hat like that and run it to the factory air box i just havent decided yet...

They are 2 3/4" tall. You could run a 4500 with an adapter and run up to 2008 cfm if need be, depends on what you really need for air. Height restrictions are a different story.

Here a tech tip from Wilson:

Use Open Plenum Spacer To Adjust Elbow Height & Improve Distribution – Use tallest Open Spacer Possible

Anything will gain from the edelbrok low profile elbow.Hopefully next week I'll be testing some custom elbows that flow serious air.It will be fed by my 105mm TB going into a 427ci.

Which TB are you talkling about? 95mm or 4150 style?

Yes to the 95mm

More info on Wilson Elbows

Wilson Manifolds lightweight 100-degree elbows provide the most efficient method
of adapting our high flow single bore throttle bodies to 4-barrel style intake
manifolds. This allows the use of a high performance intake manifold with a large
diameter single bore fuel injection throttle body. These elbows incorporate a
computer-optimized transition from the throttle body to the intake manifold plenum
for maximum flow and optimum air flow distribution. Each elbow is CNC machined
to match each end of the elbow precisely to it’s intended mating size. Commonly
used for turbo & blower applications. Available for 90mm or 105mm throttle bodies
mated with 4150 or 4500 series manifolds.
