Default Do Belt Cam Drives Add Horsepower?

I can see how they may be more stable, however I've seen claims of 10-15hp.
Is that true? Is so, how?

Thanks,

David

The advantages come in more accurate timing and no transfer of crank harmonics to the camshaft.

What bret said and they are mini variable valve timing in that they retard a tiny amount on top as well depending on the belt and the cam and the spring load.

Yeah I wasn't going to mention that much since the average cat can't do that.

How about weight savings - rotational mass? The ability to divert oil to other
areas of the engine.

A belt system also improves the life of the bearings correct?

Does that mean as RPM increase (with the proper components), the belt will
stretch under load and retard the cam?

What are the expected results, half a degree? Two degrees of cam timing?

A degree or so of retard, which will help the higher RPM.
