Upgrading my tail light harness to the spade style sockets (3057), anyone with a sequential kit and this style harness stick with the twist lock style socket (Universal 1157) or did you upgrade that as well and if so, how are you securing the socket to the housing?

EDIT: Never mind I went back through and re read the rest of the thread. Got my answer

I went to the junkyard and picked up a cracked v6 taillight and extra harness for like $5. I'm going dremel the two sockets off of the v6 taillight and reattach them to third chamber on the tails I'm going to use to make 3 of the same socket types on one taillight. Finding a messed up taillight in a junk yard is probably the best way to do it.

Go back to post #96 https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...-lights-3.html

You'll need an electronic flasher to solve the problem. Read on for more advanced activities, from there.

Thanks. I read through it. I was not prepared to do any soldering. I did buy the EL12 flasher, but then I went back to that #96 post and saw the modification he did to the flasher. And I really don't want any kind of fireball. I heard how easy this kit was to put in but I guess it is little bit above me.

I also apparently have a ground issue. When i was putting the kit in, I wired both black wires from the modules to the same single ground wire that was originally there. That original ground wire ran from the existing wire harness to a post in the body of the car. Seemed like a good place. Perhaps both black wires can not be tied into the same ground wire? I don't know.

The EL12 should get you flashing the same on both sides. If you want variable flashing but don't want to solder your own resistor, you can buy a variable flasher, but they are more $$$.

All the grounds should be able to be tied together. Instead of tying the modules to the body ground, I would also make sure they are tied into the electrical ground, also.

Earlier I described the driver side as flashing too fast and the passenger flashing too slow. After further review, I noticed that the driver side was actually NOT sequencing at all. It would just blink. The passenger side was sequencing and working as expected. Also, when I had the lights on (no blinker or hazards, just lights) the outside bulb seemed to flicker on the driver side.

I did install a new EL12 flasher. I also changed ground locations.

So I removed the two modules, rewired them but switched sides. Now the passenger side is acting in the same manner as the driver side did before I reinstalled. This leads me to believe that perhaps I have one faulty module. What do you think?

I recall this has happened one or two times and Web Electric has been really accommodating in the swap. This sounds like what is happening here.

Hey man, thanks for your help in all this. I emailed WebElectrics and will try to get a hold of him tomorrow during working hours I suppose. I was emailing him all weekend but he didn't respond. I don't blame him. Who wants to work on the weekends? lol

UPDATE:

I received a new module from WebElectrics and installed it. Everything is working well. So it was the module.
