How To: The Evil Snout Mod
Ok guys, i finnally got all the pics i need but 1 (ill try to get a pic of the exact L.E.D.s i used since you cant see them in the car but here goes.
First off your going to want to take the L.E.D.s and wire wire them so all the hot connections go to one connector, and all the grounds go to one connector. Be sure to wire all the hots togetehr and all the grounds together, because for some reason these L.E.D.s wont light reveresed.
Next i recomend unless you plan to run them through the hood which i didnt that you loom them. I opted for blue since everything else under the hood is blue as well. I then proceeded to run the loom down the side of the hood with a zip tie holder with 2 sided tape on the back (these arent working so im going to have to figure out a better way to attach them, engine heat is to much for the glue). Next if you have access to a small 12v battery i recomend temporarly wiring all the L.E.D.s to that so they light.
Next turn out all the lights in the garage your working with and feed the L.E.D.s through the opening in the ram air. Play with them until you get the desired lighting effect and then take some sort of emblem glue and glue the light in place. This diagram will show you how i did mine to get the glow effect rather than the projection of the actual l.e.d.s
Once your happy with the fit of everything take the remaing wiring under the hood and run it here...
Make sure you leave some slack for when the hood opens and closes. Next go ahead and run 2 wires Through the firewall and under the dash (i believe i used 16 gauge). I ran them through a preexisting hole for my cutout switch but you may have to drill a hole if you dont already have one. I recomend putting a rubber gromet in place to protect the wires. Remember to give yourself plenty of extra slack to route the wires. Run both to the switch wherever you choose to mount it. (i did mine on the TCS panel) You should also put a small 5 amp fuse in here just incase. I have mine on the hot side of the switch even thoguh i show it diffrently in the diagram. Anywhere you put its fine. From there wire it acording the the diagram shown here.
I picked up my power and ground right by the battery for conveinence as shown here.
Im sure theres better ways to do it but for now this is what i have. I would like to conceal the wires a little better and i plan to before its all said and done but atleast this will give you guys some ideas.

I ran the wires down the hood pretty much the same way. If you don't mind me showing them too:
A couple of my clips failed me as well, but there's still enough there to hold onto.
The only other difference between how we did it, is that I ran all my wires into the interior through the firewall, and I tapped into the 2nd cigarette lighter power and ground, that way I didn't have to run anything across the engine bay or put more stress on the battery itself.
I love the blue of your lights though, they match great

thanks guys that was really helpful and gave me some ideas for when i tackle this in the spring. One question is what leds did you two use, if you could pm and let me know cause i have no idea where to get and what to get! ALso, did you have to put a fuse in if you used the cig lighter?

I also PMed you the other day max. One other thing, since I'm putting them in one scoop (SS hood) think I could get away with just using 2 LEDs?
Thanks, Ted

This wire loom running along the hood looks like crap. Why not snake the wires through the hollow parts of the hood and pull em through right near the hinge? Drill a hole near the hinge if needed. That way the wire is out of sight completely. That can be done on steel hoods too. A coat hanger straightened out should get the snaking done but better yet if you have a wire feed guide like electricians use.
