There are plastic barbed-button fasteners that you have to find
and pop out. Figure on buying blister-pak replacements, they are
reusable if you're lucky. I used large needlenose pliers, there may
be a proper trim fastener removal tool (ya think?) but I have no
idea what it looks like.
Should pull right out once you get 'em all.

Those round discs are VERY long "Pinecone" fasteners. IIRC there are a total of six holding the grille one. Two in the middle pointing up and tow in each "snorkle" going to each side.
They are and absolute BITCH to get out.
When I removed my SS grille, I did it the long tedious way . . . took the entire bumper cover off, and pushed each "Pinecone" out from the back side.
No damage to the grille, the bumper cover nor the fasteners.
