Alright.. the shop is doing it's job. The heads are apparently cheaply made, and they just kept running into more and more problems.

Weak guides, etc. So NOW.. I told him my cam information and he said "Not a snowball's chance in hell" that my cam would work with my heads. (No clearance) He also said that since my rockers are non-adjustable, that would cause a problem with pushing my valves into the valve guides due to my bigger lift.

A million problems and clearance issues have come to our attention due to these heads.

Now we can either...

1. Take off EVERYTHING and go with a smaller cam (dont want to do this)
2. Flycut the pistons, which would only resolve our PTVC issue.
3. Buy a whole new set of heads that will work with a Torquer 3 right out of the box.

I'd just get a set of 243s and be done with it. Maybe get a little work done to them, depending on your budget.

I have an 862 5.3L heads. The guy at the shop said "Pro Comp" and "Patriot" for the heads quite a few times.. He kept saying something about them being China heads?

What about PRC Stage 2.5 5.3 heads? I just need something I can bolt-on and be done.. So I don't have to fly cut

I'd get the Stage 2.5 243's. Should be a good setup.

Just to show you guys...

Here are my heads that are at the shop.

The valve on the right was one of the valves from cylinder 1 (ouch)

Everything was resurfaced & cleaned up, all the valves were re-done. He's waiting on a new pair of valves to come in for cylinder 1, and then I get them back. I will be selling these heads when I get them back if anyone is interested. They are Stage II 5.3 heads.

Combustion Chamber Volume (cc) 63cc
Intake Runner Volume (cc) 213cc
Exhaust Runner Volume (cc) 78cc

They will be fully assembled with Patriot Dual Gold valve springs

The heads are gonna take 10-14 days to be built.. so until then we'll only be doing little things that we find. Keep checking every so often.

As my friend was vacuuming out his 'Stang, I unwrapped my fuel rails like a kid on Christmas.. little did I know.. I was being watched.

And yes, I'm totally kickin' it like a redneck. Mustang seat on my front lawn.

Watching scrubs and assembling my intake. That's the life.
