My engine bay and engine redo - 98 TA
Well, looks like my engine is glittering up my oil. Time for a new one.
Engine bay has been a sore spot for me on the car for a long time, it never has shined the way I've wanted it to.
So out with the LS1, in with a 6.0L with 5.3L heads and some other goodies.
Then I'm going to clean up the engine bay, hide some wires, shave some holes, and then paint the whole damn thing.
Pictures to come, I just started tearing it down last night.

Coming soon, I'll post them tonight. It was late and I was exhausted last night.
I have a 3 year old and a 1 month old boys if that gets me a reprieve for my absent mindedness.

Yeah, I know. I was telling my wife that last night. The exterior of the car is almost perfect, and there are only a few small interior issues, but the underhood has been a sore spot for me on this car since day 1. Well, that and the automatic, but that was taken care of with the T56 last year.
Also bought my 6.0, picking it up on Friday.

I think I may ditch the coated Pacesetters for some of the LSXtreme stainless headers, too. My car was never driven in the snow/salt/rain/etc and the coated Pacesetters have looked like **** for the last few years.

Pics to come soon. I got the engine down to the shortblock (my 3yo son helped!) and am going to tear it down to the bare block today. Then a friend of mine is going to tank the parts to clean them up, then going to start putting the engine back together!
I may actually go with some Speed-Pro .03 hypereutectics, but not sure yet.

I'm going to look hard into finding a place to relocate my PCM tonight. I still have my A/C and don't plan to remove it, so might be a lost cause, but there has got to be somewhere I can hide that big ugly pos and all the wires.

Engine is torn down and in the back of the truck, heading to the shop to get tanked and have the 5.3L heads redone!
I have pics on my cell camera, I'll post them when I get to work tomorrow.
