Maybe someone else could do a better photoshop. I'm not that good with it. Here's the vents on the Viper:

I don't think VFN will be changing Q's hood, since they said they wouldn't already. I'd like to see a new hood design using what I suggested.

all this hood needs IMO is to have the scoops raised about 1" and have the heat extractors removed. I've been looking for a raptor style hood w/ a taller profile for years and havent found anything yet, and I'm not talking about an "outlaw" style profile either... just a little bit more aggressive than the WSQ,raptor or superhawk... and not quiet as big as the newer slopped style hood from VFN

oh and it needs to be a lift off! he he he

I am sorry guys, but we are in the final stages of completing this hood and are not able to drastically change the design.
We did however change the angle of the center extractors - so they are on the same pitch as the headlights.
We are keeping the side extractors.

Pictures soon!

How does VFN go about deciding what designs to make? I'm sure you guys get a lot of suggestions (just like in this thread).

i loveeeeee where this is going. Some fine tuning and I might be sold. Still rocking the TA hood.

everybody talking trash needs to shutup, its not even done. lets see your hoods!

you guys need to find a trans am to put this on. I think it would fit the TA front end much much better.

any estimates on how much this thing is gonna weigh?

well I've loved the hood since I first saw it....the fact that they angled the cowl vents was my only concern originally....now everyone's always going to have an opinion on changes...but liek i've said before...this hood is going to be awesome...I'm looking forward to seeing the first one on and painted.

Looks like something you would find in a need for speed game. I do like it though.

It's a complicated theory of physics and rock, paper, scissors

Would it be possible to get a custom hood done? I realize it would probably cost a lot to get the mold made, but I'm curious to see the actual cost.

What's the purpose of those openings?
Are they functional?
Any way you can do the hood wihout those?
(Yea, I know, then it's just another 'SuperHawk' style hood. But that should sell also.)

Good to see one of the vendor get on board & produce such a hood!
So you can get ram air induction while going in reverse of course. Looks second.

Interesting thread, I'm joing in. Kinda eager to see how this goes. Asthetically the angle'd center vents are more pleasing vs the square'd off version (on the prototype) because nothing on a Bird is square in the front end it just doesn't work IMHO.

I say leave the Firehawk side extractors, and do something like the Viper 08+ Hoods have on each side in the middle.

I think the Viper-style vents would look better on the sides of the hood. The Firehawk heat extractors look kind of weak, IMO.

But if we are talking from a functional standpoint. The huge 6pack Viper style would serve better purpose in the middle over each bank vs the strut towers like the Firehawk ones do. Thus why they are over each bank on a Snake

Also curious on the possibilities of a custom hood. I'll be in the market for a vented Camaro hood soon, since my car isn't really a 'bottom breather' anymore, I could really use the extra airflow out of the engine bay. Something like the Vette hood on pg 5 would be great. The Mecham is the only vented Camaro hood I've found, and it just doesn't do it for me. Plus, the fitment and quality of VFN products is second to none.
