Everyone will have a different idea of what is perfect but to have a new hood out is awesome. Should we expect to see production this year? IMO it looks great, I'm not a fan of the big cowl hoods but I think this flows very well and basing the angle of the center vents off the lights should look great. Thanks VFN

Thanks guys.
Unfortunately, we have to be extremely selective about what custom work we take on and when we do.
We used to take on much more custom work, but found that not only do we then run around like mad chickens all the time...while we work hard to keep up with both custom jobs and our normal production orders...but that it's hard to get any return off many of these projects.
It's hard to charge a customer the full amount that we absorb making molds...these costs can range in the thousands - generally between $5000-10000 - not to mention all the hours and labor that go into these projects. Many custom jobs that we took on previously, we lost money on.
But...We are always open to suggestions...and we do keep our eyes open.
Unfortunately we are just unable to take on every great idea that we see....and there are a lot of them out there
We can however, always refer anyone who is interested in spending a few grand on mold costs to a small shop that is located in our general area. He will need your part to make a mold from - and I'm not sure of the extent of "custom" that he takes on...but he does great one off mold projects and is quite reasonable in price.

Just curious, VFN are you guys going to be doing any type of hoods for the following vehicles in the future?
2010+ Camaro?
2010+ Mustang GT? (since its a new body style)
G8 GT's & SRT8 300's?
Those are my choices for my next car, and would love to have some hood options out there for them.

Man I too love just about everything about it aside from the center reverse scoops. The nostril section is the best I've seen. And I like the firehawk extracters on the sides.

As will I unload my Firehawk hood if this is released. I would buy it now, if they would angle the center heat extractors......Viper 6pack or not, I'd do it with angled centers

VFN,
I love the hood with the angles adjusted on the top extractors. One MINOR change I'd like to see tho. On the side ports, see how theres a raise in front of the hole? How about something like that for those larger heat extractors also? I think it'll give it a more fluid look and, of course, match the other ports better.

VFN, this is just purely out curiosity... but if the majority of the ppl on this thread said they enjoyed the hood with more curves, than sharp angles on it in terms of the heat extractors on the top of the hood nostrils... would it not be a smarter idea to create the hood that way? Obviously I have no idea what other ppl on other forums have said, I would just figure it would appeal to a larger crowd if you went with what the majority says and would sell more that way. Honestly, just wondering.

it looks a lot better.
but, IMO, the vents dip down too abruptly... goes from flat directly into like a 45 degree angle. and the curves are a little too sharp/pointed. should've been smoother to flow better with the car, which has no hard edges.
no complaints with the heat extractors or the nostrils though, those nostrils look mean as hell in the first pic!
I'm only as critical as i am because i'd seriously consider purchasing if it ends up flowing good all the way around.
but, if thats the final, i'd have to pass. But, it's still nice to see new products coming out.

they are actually not as sharply angled as they appear, we took the pictures in the shade because its hard to get a nice shot on a sunny day and the shade makes it look as if the top is rounded and suddenly drops off but in fact it is a smooth transition that rolls which is a little more apparent in the last photo from the top looking down

The 3rd pic down that VFNTech posted really shows how out of place the heat extractors / dips look on that hood imo. None of that stuff really goes with the car at all. It's too much. I like the nose part of the hood, but that's it. Plus those dips on the nostrils look like they will hold a lot of water. I will keep my sleek beak.
