My Official Engine Bay Appearance/Build Thread
well guys, i hope this is the right place for this. I just pulled the car off the road and did a final detail on it before the weather hits. Getting ready in the next 2 weeks to start tearing it all apart for the new motor. I am swapping in a Clayton Racing 383 LT1 boost motor on the new 24x management, full UMI tubular front suspension, Willwood big brake kit, and a new trans. As It all goes back together its all going to be painted, powdercoated, and polished into a full on show car setup. It should be a long eventful winter but the results should pay off in the spring.
Just a quick overview of what i have planed appearance wise. I will be painting the motor the mid 70s Pontiac Engine color (the kinda darker metallic blue you see on some of the 75-77 trans ams). The valve covers/headers/other dress up bits will be a mix of chrome and silver powdercoating. Planing on painting all the inner fenders and underhood chassis black. Wherever i can manage im going to try to make it look as much old school pontiac with a mix of newschool as I can manage.
As far as the LS1 style Coilpacks i may try to find a clever way to tuck them depending on what style valve cover I run (if anyone knows where i can get a set of centerbolts that have pontiac written on them let me know!). As far as intake setup for now im going to retrofit an LS1 style box until later on when i supercharge it. I figure for now ittl look nicer than a stock style LT1 intake. Im more than open to ideas and suggestions as I go along. Heres a few pics of her now ready and waiting for the rest of the parts to get here.
Updates coming soon
