Question Engine Bay (sheet metal covers)

.................................................. ..^^^......
Soooo, escentialy I want to duplicate THIS look.

I'd like some tips or advise on how I should go about this. What metal to use, techniques, clearance issues and or areas to avoid and etc.

I was planning on going to Office Depot or Staples and getting a few blank large posterboards, cut pieces to the shapes desired and then basically use them as templates to follow when bringing in sheet metal.

Further plans would be to paint these covers, intake, FRCs, future ST-Brace and my lid to the same matching color of black to go w/ the car's GM Black color. No emblems or anything with text! Just clean!!

Thoughts?!

Well, after you fab up your pieces, you could give the guys over at EmblemPros.com a call and see what they can do for you. They are a sponsor. They helped me out.

See...

I would like something like that also. There was a guy here a few years ago that made some. There was alot of interest, but he never followed through. I have the fuse block cover and PCM cover that are colormatched. I would like the wheel well covers. Never knew EmblemPros's could do that.

I never knew either 'til I asked. And he was like, of course we can do that. Now, the pieces are not super cheap, being that they are custom made. But, they came out awesome! And again, are custom made. Not too many place you can just send them a cut out of what you want, and they can make them just like that!

FQZ:

The battery cover was $60 plus shipping.
The fuse box cover was $90 (I think), plus shipping.

And the guys have them done in less than 2 weeks.
