Default My return to cars/Trans Am restoration thread

Whats up everyone? A little background, since I was 14 I've always had some kind of sports car. In 2008 I sold my last street bike and hadnt had a car since then. Just my dd trucks. Well, I just picked up a project 99 trans am. The car runs and drives great, but it needs some tlc. It's missing parts and has a few lt1 things on it (tail lights, rear end, radiator cover). I'm going to be stripping this car completely down and building it back up to what I want it to be. I'm already going through what I want to sell off of it (trans, hood, interior lol). I'm very undecided on what motor and what color to paint the car. Im between arctic white and a variant of the color the car is without all the blue in it. I am however sure it will be a 6spd cruiser that gets pushed hard. Im pretty bad about pushing my cars until something fails. Usually the transmssion. I got the car for the price of an ls1 roller. A woman was actually going to scrap the car. Here is a quick run down of the car and some pics of past rides. And yes, the green car has a filter directly on the throttle body. I have no idea why besides it might have had a speed density tune once.

1999 Trans Am
133,xxx miles
BGC
A4
Gray Leather

2005 Kawasaki Ninja 636
2004 GXR 600
2001 Camaro SS
2000 Trans Am WS6

I was gonna ask the same thing before I saw your post! OP, how much do you pay for the car if you don't mind me asking. PM me if you want.

It wasn't throwing any codes and it drove surprisingly well. It had some sort of tune to run that well without the MAF. What it was... I don't know.

When are you going to put the wheels back on this heap so we can move it? What parts did you end up buying monday night? If you actually bought springs and shocks I'm going to bludgeon you with a sway bar. It needs so many other things first!
