ive had my pc since 05 ive got 2 and 3 griots 2 flex's a dewalt rotory and a rupes so ya they lack some power but theyre ok. when you do this for a living you need something w some power, hence the other machines. I havent been to any gatherings in years. but i do know theres a guy w a res ws6 in houston w ccw's as well.

Just ordered M105, M205, Foam Gun, (More) Clay, Blackfire Wet Diamond, Adams VRT (been wanting to try this for a while), and some Chemical Guys shampoo for the gun (I have been using Meguair's Gold Wash and I like it).

Why does this look so different (fender and door)........ and how do I get the wax out of the grooves? I got most of it out with Q-Tips but theres still some there (this is before I used q-tips in the picture)

That has happened to me, I popped my hood and used a small piece of clay bar and some QD to get rid of it.

Yeah that orange peel is bad. Just started compounding my ws6 today finally, been puttin it off for a while. When Jeff said our paint was rock hard he wasn't kidding.

M101+orange lc pad takes a lot of passes. It doesn't help that the previous owner had to have gone through swirlomatic car washes the car's entire life. Wish I would've bought mf pads.

Be careful with M101 + foam, it will remove material at a VERY fast rate.

Clear coat material.

Unless you have single stage paint (not many cars do these days), you're never actually touching the paint. You're working the clear coat layer on top of the paint.

Kinda what I meant. At any rate, foaming removes clearcoat? How? If it is just soap, I don't see how it would. I only plan on using M105 when my car gets some swirlmarks in it basically, and just foaming when I wash, maybe every other time I wash.

He meant the foam pad, not the soap foam.

Oh in that case then yeah I could see it doing some damage if you continued to use it more than needed. That is why you take care of your paint after correcting it!

Should m105/205 only be used by da/pc and rotary buffers. Because I used an orbital buffer and I didn't see much difference in the correction. Gonna try a couple more passes. Any tips correcting paint with a 6" orbital buffer? Its a one speed unit.

I'm pretty impressed with it. Idk if it's just me, but does m101 wipe off wayyyy easier than m105? It almost feels like i'm working m205 with this stuff, it's awesome.

I guess I'm going to have to learn to deal with some of these RIDS. Luckily, my paint is white.

You will see very little improvement if any with an orbital buffer. It doesn't have the power or rotation that a DA polisher does.

What he said you will def need a Porter Cable or Griots Garage polisher.

My buddy painted for me. So it's orange peel then? Me and my friend wet sanded but he did it really quick so I think thats why the reflection is not that good.

How much does a shop charge to fix that on average?

An orbital is a waste of time, it doesn't have enough power.

Body shops will do it for a few hundred typically.
A real professional detailer will charge 1k+ usually.... for a very good reason.

Never needed to touch any dyes. Pretty much always been able to get whatever stains out that I needed to. Usually dealers seek the cheapest "quick fix"....not the best source.

Also, the car is originally from florida, I just noticed on an overcast day that parts of the hood on the passenger side are small blisters/bubbles only visible in certain lighting, and parts of the rear deck lid but not much there, I was wanting to know if this is able to be corrected with cutting/polishing or would it make it worse? it seems to be in the clear coat but I'm not 100%. it's mostly the hood tho, all side panels are perfect, I'm thinking the sun baked the paint on some of the flat services.

Thanks!
Meguiars MF cutting discs, D300, M105 for the cutting. LC orange and white for med polishing. All of this is in the thread already and in much greater detail.

As for the bubbles....I have no way of knowing without seeing it. Sounds like paint separation to me.

Every product will have different temperature tolerances. Just thaw them out and try them and see if they still work.
