Hyperwash from their detailer line. The 400:1 dilution ratio is so cost effective. It's about 1.5 oz's in 4 gallons of water.

Excellent. Thank you for the response. Just didnt want to buy something that was going to remove all the hard work i put in it and then have to rewax after a simple wash

Meguiar's recommends a weekly wash. It will keep the surface cleaner so contaminants don't build up faster. I don't know what spray wax you have but I use ultimate quik wax as a drying aid.

After washing, flood the surface to remove as much water as possible. Spray some quik wax on the panels with the remaining water. Use two towels. One to apply and one to buff off. You will add protection after every wash.

Ok professional detailers, looking for a long lasting sealant/ coating. Which one would you recommend, gloss coat/ cquartz or other? Something that is long lasting and durable but is user friendly to apply. I've never applied one before but have been doing my research and the prep work needed.

There are a lot of good sealants on the market. Most will tend to last about 6 months.

If you want something more durable than that then a coating is the way to go. As you saw in my thread, I used Ameriarmour from Americana Car Care. It's user friendly. Application is like cquartz. Durability for Ameriarmour is 2 years. From what I have read, Gloss Coat is one of the easiest coatings to apply.

Americana Car Care is making some business changes so their site is being redone from the ground up as they are introducing some new products.

Thank you guz, I'll check them out too. I don't think I've seen them before. I've been that route before with adams sealants and want something more. I'm starting to venture out of the adams world haha. Not that I don't like some of their products but I know with some stuff there is better. Another quick question, from my understanding the 6.5 in pads that I got through them is to big for the porter cable?

I have ventured away from Adams on a lot of products. I have gone to Meguiar's for a lot of my products. I tried a couple products from Americana Car Care and was pleasantly surprised. Another forum member turned me onto their products. Their sealant is also good. Typical durability of about 5-6 months depending on the surrounding environment. My brother has it on his car currently.

I heard good things about wolfgang paint sealant and blackfire paint sealant.

To get something more durable a coating is the way to go.

With the porter cable I like to use a 5" backing plate and 5-5.5" pads. I am currently using the new thin 5" Meguiar's foam pads. I have tested them on a PC and they work great. Lake Country Hydro Tech pads are also good. Thinner pads is the way to go.

I definitely want to do a coating this time. Just trying to do some homework first before I slap something on that's going to last awhile. Not sure on my backing plate size, I'll have to look. It's what came from adams in their kit. Do the foam pads work well with meguiar's 105/205?

I no longer use M105 as I find M100, M101 and D300 to be better. But yes both products work very well with the new thin pads. The burgundy cutting pad cuts almost as good as their microfiber cutting pad but finishes better than a microfiber cutting pad. The factory paint on these cars is on the hard side.

Ok I'll take a look at those as well, I didn't realize they had more. Any reason to need microfiber pads with those or just stick with foam pads? The back half of the car's paint should be hard, the front has been repainted so I have to watch how hard I go with it.

The new thin pads are very good. As always a test spot is the way to go. Seeing as your car has a repaint on the front, I would do a test spot on that area and on the area with OEM paint.

The first time I did a test spot on my car, this was back when I had M105, it didn't do much. I was using a Lake Country Orange flat pad. I then purchased the Meguiar's microfiber cutting pads and the D300 compound and that worked flawlessly.

The paint on my 02 is hard. Same with my dad's 02. I used microfiber right from the get go. I finished with M205 on a white lake country polishing pad at that time.

This last time on my car all I had to use was M205 and the new thin Meguiar's yellow polishing pad. The thinner pad will translate the tools power better. Smaller pads will rotate better. Perfect combination for the porter cable.

Here is my review on the new pads

If you are looking for something over the counter, then one's that I have liked are:

Mothers Leather Wash and Leather Cream

Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Sealer Treatment. This comes in a kit. This one will last a little longer than the Mothers and Blackfire

If you want to spend a little more money then I would recommend Blackfire Leather Conditioner.

I would also recommend the leather to be cleaned every so often (~couple times a year) and Meguiar's Gold Class Leather & Vinyl cleaner works well.

Leatherique is some if not the best stuff you can buy, pricey stuff though. Best used when it's real hot out when applied, then allowed to basically steep for hours in the sun windows up, if not over night. Ive got the kit in my detailing cabinet in the garage.

I also have not got the chance to use it as its winter now. But if you can get the garage hot enough even with some heat lamps, stuff should work great. Leatherique highly recommends using it in a hot environment and letting it sit for hours.

If they are stock f-bodies seats just use a protectant such as 303 aerospace protectant. Leather treatments aren't going to do anything because there is a coating on your seats.

This is true about the coating on leather. This is a good thread. See post #18

My 2 cents on Leather cleaning and conditioning. I use a mixture of Duragloss 441 to clean & Duragloss 221 to condition (http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-leather-shampoo.html) & (http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-le...nditioner.html)

For vinyl/coated leather/newer interiors etc. I clean with either 441 or diluted APC. then put 303 ontop.
