After I polished my car a few weeks ago I sealed it up with some blackfire wet diamond. Looks really good, but i got to thinking maybe I should have topped that with a wax as well? Is that a waste of time or would it help with the depth of the shine?

On another note, how long do you let BFWD cure for? I let it cure for around 20min but some people say up to two hours?

I gotta quick question. When wet sanding I finish with say a 2000 grit sandpaper can I go directly from the wet sanding and use the 105/205 combo?

Yes you can. I'm actually doing it right now.

Are you doing the whole car or just spot wet sanding?

I'm doing just the hood. It's safer than a rotary but takes a lot longer.

If I was better prepared I would have used the Meguairs MF system.

Well as of right now it's just spot, certain places I'm not reall happy with. And what exactly are you saying is safer than a rotary?

I'm sorry I assumed you were using a P/C. That's my mistake.

I meant that a Porter Cable is safer than a rotary unless you are familiar with using a rotary.

2000 is still kinda low. Shouldn't you hit it with 3000 before compounding and polishing?

No I have a rotary. I'm practicing on some old paint right now before I do my car. Ive done really well so far, it has got the scratches out and everything paints really popping!

Well acording to the 105 directions it says it can take 1200 grit or finer out.

Best way on cleaning a car cover? The residue from the wax on my car got underneath it so when I put the cover back on you could just see marks everywhere. Don't know if there's cleaners that have bigger then normal washers to clean that type of thing? Or if I should just hang it from a tree or something & try to hand wash it....

Anyone use a steam cleaner (not the vacuum) to clean engine bays, or wheels/wheel wells/brakes? I'm considering getting one if it works well on those things.

A steamer is GREAT for all those things. Be prepared to pay $600-700 minimum for a good one.
