Use a brush like this with lots of good soapy water. The good ones are made of horse hair or boars hair. The bristles are stiff enough to get the dirt grime out but won't scratch the paint up.

What would you use to get a scuff out of paint like in the picture attached?

It appears the PO possibly pulled too far forward onto a parking block or something of the sort.

Also, there are two small dings that the PO applied touchup paint to. Is there anyway for me to smooth this out without having to retouch it up? If not, what is the best method for stripping it and then reapplying touchup.

Sorry for the attached pictures, I do not have access to photo hosting sites.

It's alright I'm also debating getting my windshield tinted, about 45% or so. My cousin has all his windows including his windshield with like 40% and it looks amazing. I'm hoping it'll cut down on the glare from the dash.

Yeah I thought about it too, going 50%, but then I was worried about them cracking my dash so I never went through with it.

I'm going to pull off the part of the dash that is touching the windshield when I get it done, it's simple to get off.

whats the best way to get light pollen or dust off the car? i know to stay away from the wand o swirls but does a quick detailer leave swirls behind if i spray it on to wipe the pollen or dust off? how do you care for your car in between details; i take my car out of the garage for one day and its covered in pollen or just dust should i just put the cover on over that or how would i remove the dust and pollen?

If you have access to this site, then you can access photobucket. Very simple to do.

That will have to be repainted.

Having a clean dash with no dressing on it will also cut the glare down.

NEVER wipe pollen off the car. They are super abrasive particle. Always wash if you get pollen on the car. Never cover over pollen either. Only cover if car is 100% clean, and with a 100% clean cover (ie, if you've covered the car before and it wasn't 100% clean, your cover now has to be cleaned).

The Trizact pads are designed to be used by DA machine, not for hand use.

My dash is always clean, and I really try to keep the dash free of dressing, but it still seems to glare pretty badly. Do you think the tint will help with the glare? Otherwise, what would you recommend?

Thanks!

Depends on the film. Some brands may be more reflective than the glass and make it worse, some maybe not.

GoFast,

I know you said you like the MF from Detailing.com. Exactly which MF do you get from them? They have some 300g, 460g, etc... I know that different weights are suppose to be better for different things than others.

I am about to order some good MF this week. I had ordered a set of three mango MF's and weren't impressed at all. I did pick up a Cobra Gold Plush Jr. and it seemed to work well. The car I just finished had extremely soft paint.
Thanks.

I like the:

-gray with black border
-gray with red border
-neon green

and for the softest of paint out there.....the simple plain white ones that come in a 10pack. Inexpensive and great for soft paint.

I picked up a 67 Firebird that I am restoring and I am doing sections of the car until I run out of materials. I just finished rust proofing the whole car and fatmatting it all. Now its time to work on the dash. The car was originally blue and now I am turning it to black. The dash needs to be repainted. what do I need to do this? Tools, sanders etc. I have the spray paint already from SEM. Thanks
