finally did something about my terrible headlights
So I love my trans am. But one of the things I cant stand is the fact that we got stuck with sealed beam garbage headlights. I could never see anything. first I tried replacing the sealed beams. That of course did nothing. Then I hollowed out the sealed beams, and tried out some amazon.com HIDs, and siliconed them in. They were bright to look at, butI still couldnt see more than ten feel ahead of me on a dark road at night. Then I bought the LMC truck housings. What a difference. theres actually a light cut off now, and the bulbs that came with them were 50 times brighter and put out so much more light! plus they look 100 times better, fit perfect, and make the car feel just a little more modern. I also ordered 4300k HIDs from ddm tuning, ordered them the same day. probably dont even need them after seeing these. Over all very happy, and suggest the mod to anyone that has stock lights in a trans am. if this didnt work i was going to projectors.
heres a pic with the old HIDs in. they just kind of flooded the area with a dull light, but no matter what i did I could see the road, and just pissed people off.
heres the new lights installed, next to the ugly sealed beam high beams. (which ill be ordering soon.)
here they are turned on. looks like day light in front of the car!
I will get better pictures soon! very happy with this mod, ordereding the matching hi beams today!

As soon as I get home today I will post up more pictures. Anything in particular? This has Been done before, I just wanted to share it to all the good transam owners. Btw they're like 60 bucks.

Pretty much. I previously had the crappy hids, so I ended up splicing in the new wire. Just how it comes I believe you can just do plug and play. There was no modifications to make the lights fit or anything. It seriously took me less than 15 mintes to do in the dark and the cold.

So easily put; Remove/Replace Housing with LMC and now you can just use halogen bulbs instead of headlamps? The harness is optional too. If I get on this, then I will try without it first. Good Work!

The harness comes with it. I got a box. Inside were two smaller boxes. In each one of those was a new housing, with the bulb already installed, and the harness. I had already spliced into my headlights with hids, so I just cut the connector Off the lmc harness and wired them to the car. But they come plug and play.
Steps.
Remove black plastic shroud
Unscew headlight bezel.
Remove headlight, unplug headlight
Plug in new harness to existing plug
Install new headlight
See in the dark.

I'd say yes. I was going to order the highs last night, but I somehow walked out of apple with an iPhone 5. So there goes this weeks spending money. And next week is my Christmas party, and bonus, so there's my custom cam. So just gotta wait till january
