Whats the best/safest method for removing bugs from the front bumper? Anyone know of something that works really well and doesn't hurt the finish?

WD-40 will work. Most bug and tar removers will remove any wax you have on the car.

I know it'll take wax residue off the plastic between the hood and windshield, never heard of it taking bugs and tar off, try it it ain't gonna hurt (use the creamy style not the chunky)

I use a couple of products. A lime-green spray called Splatt Bug Remover, and the spray-on version of Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover. I use both of those right before a wax job. For day-to-day bug removal, I just use Eagle One Wet Wipe 'n Shine.

Goo Gone. If you don't get too carried away with it, it doesn't hurt the finish at all. Available at your local Wally World (aka Wal Mart).

1000 Island salad dressing works for me J/K I always use WD-40.

Does it have to be WD-40? Would any kind of penetrating oil work? Liquid wrench, PB Blaster, etc etc?

The Turtle Wax Bur and Tar Remover does well....doesn't take off the finish either...
