I dont post on this site a whole lot but I wanted to share this with you since there are a lot of LT1 LS1 4th gen owners on this site.

This was one of the hardest projects I have ever done so far. Trying to fit 5" gauges in 4.5" space was very difficult and time consuming. The gauge pod is 16 gauge steel and I had to cut all the holes with a hole saw. The rest was done with a grinder and welder.
The brackets to bolt this in are fully adjustable and required many mock ups to perfect.
The tach works but I still have to wire the speedo and the other gauges. All the gauges are electronic. The speedo is just 2 wires and will be easy.
I really hope this is something else that no one has ever done. Yes this 4th gen interior is all in my 69 Camaro.

Price for the gauge pod. $200.00 for those who are interrested. Otherwise I really had no intention to sell my design.

I dunno about you all but I missed probably the most important part about what he said the first time I read it, he said thats all in his 69 Camaro! THATS FREAKIN SWEEET. Nothing better than the oldschool musclecar feel w/ the comfort of the new stuff uber props to you for such a sweet idea so skillfully and damn near flawlessly executed

Thank you for all the positive feedback so far especially Luna. It is highly appreciated. The interior is still a major work in progress and far from complete. So ignore any flaws you see. They will eventually disappear.
I never really put much thought into selling these gauge pods since they take quite a bit of time to make. If I had access to a CNC machine it would be a lot faster. I have the program for Solid works and I could easily make it for Autocad so I guess if I get a few people interrested in the gauge pod I might consider having a shop cut them for me. I wouldn't sell the gauges. It would be easier and probably cheaper for you to get them from a dealer.
This gauge pod should bolt into any 98-02 Trans am or Firebird. Im not sure if it would bolt into a 98-02 Camaro.
To answer HAWK#549 other question. Yes I have a fuel gauge in the top center. If I sold the gauge pod you could put the gauges anywhere you wanted and use whatever gauges you wanted.
If you have any more questions I will try to keep checking this thread once in a while.

If some of you are interrested, how about throwing out some rough ideas on a price range of what you think would be reasonable. Just for the gauge pod. I will ship anywhere and cover the shipping myself.

Could someone rehost the pictures? For some reason they aren't working for me. Firefox or IE won't display them. I'm getting an unresolved host name.

You can also see the pics of the gauges Gauge pics here
I will put this link in the first post too.
I am still thinking about the price and calling around for a decent price on CNC work.
As for the gauges I bought most of them from a local dealer for the same price as most everyone else would pay. You can go to the Autometer site and price the ones you want out. They have tons to choose from. http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugeseries.aspx

I have the Ultra Lite style Autometer gauges

if you did mass produce this, mabie you could include the guages. if you buy them in bulk, i'm sure you will get a good discount, and you can pass the savings on. just a thought.

I honestly dont want to get involved with a mass production. I appreciate the idea but can honestly say I wont be selling gauges with this pod.

Well they look great, let us know what you plan on doing. Seeing that makes me think about how boring the regular gauge cluster really is.

I called around all day and looked at many options. I will be able to CNC these out so you will have a really clean cut all the way around including the gauge holes. I will still have to weld the adjustable tabs onto the brackets and I will mock them up into my car to make sure each one fits. I will sell each one for $200.00. I will send instructions and my phone numbers for you to reach me with each piece I sell.
I need a little help from you though. What size diameter is the stock 98-2002 trans am COLUMN? I can go to a local dealer and measure it if necessary. Also I would like to know exactly what year gauges are the same.
1. 1998-2002 trans am are the same but how about 1993-1997? Are the bolt hole locations the same? If yes then these will fit in there too.
2. How about 4th gen Camaro?
If you are still interrested in the gauge pod for $200.00 then let me know in here and I will put your name on a list in the first post or possibly make a new thread in the for sale section. I will make 6 right away if the demand is there. I will also give more detail to whats involved in the installation of this gauge pod.
