Default My chance to bash Mecham hoods

Here's why NOBODY should give any money to Mecham so they go out of business! Here is my hood with all the fine quality and care visible for all to see!

Forget the above, click on my link and go to my site, nice BIG pics of Mecham's crap on page 2, page 1 has my car from a few feet away.

the cracks? How long have you had the hood? what might have caused them to form?

**** Poor quality is what caused them. I have had the hood about 2 years, but a lot of the cracks started very early on, like about 2 months or so after painting.

Im sure my last car (99 T/A with mecham hood) would have looked just as bad if not worse than yours by now.

Mecham = junk

That sucks. Sell it to someone that will bother to fix the cracks and buy one from one of our sponsors instead

Hey Tony I got one of the hoods from a trade in on one of mine and made a mold of the hood scoop area.

If i ever buy a new hood i'm going with these guys most likely.

Anyone heard good/bad things about these? $440 and they're functional, seems like a steal.

Rex, what are you going to do for a new hood design? I think you should basically copy the style, just make the two scoops with vents more noticeable and more aggressive from the front view.

An OEM WS6 list for 1500. You can find them new around 1200. Cost for most bodys shops cost is around 800. They are not cheap, but fit like a glove out 0f the box. I'm doing a factory WS6 on mine, so I work a body shop and get cost.

They are junk. I know someone that had one of there SS hoods and it was worse then Mecham. VFN, ASCD, and orginal GM are the top 3.

How often do we have threads about how bad Mecham is? I'm in no way blaming the poster of this thread for the bad quality, but searching a bit and doing some research on a product would have cleared up this whole problem.

Mecham's hoods are pure ****. They have been for quite a while and likely will continue to be until people stop buying them.

See if they'll do anything for you in terms of a return. If they offer another hood, don't take it because they almost always end up shitty.

I really like the pic on the last page of your dog taking a dump. You should get him to do it on your hood and make a new advertisement for the hoods. Those cracks really suck. Sorry to see it.
