Anyone with side exit exhaust?
I'm thinking this probably doesn't belong in the engine section, and it is appearance so w/e.
Anyway, does anyone have a before-the-axle, side exit exhaust setup? I guess that would be NASCAR style? I like the idea because you get a true dual setup and still get to see some tips, in a very badass location. I've heard of this done but i've never really seen any pics of such a thing.
Only problems i could imagine would be noise, obviously, and maybe clearance issues if the car was lowered. I might be considering this if and when i get headers. Can anyone help me out?

I believe that Camaro has mufflers called "boom tubes", or at least thats what it looks like to me. Dont know if you guys have ever heard of those, but if im not mistaken its what the nascar guys run on their cars, and I doubt its street legal cuz its loud as hell. I think it would be cool to see a side exit system, definately unique.

wow that sunoco is crazy! where could i possibly find tips like that!?
In laux of those tips though, i'd probably use some chrome Z28 tips. better for clearance and could cut down on some drone. I really like that look on that car tho.

yes, those are the things i was rambling on about. ls1sounds.com has a clip of a boom tube, and they sound awesome. extremely loud from what i hear. If im not mistaken again, the boom tubes actually have the same tips as the sunoco camaro, i believe the muffler just exits out and the exit of the muffler is the tips you can see coming out the side. go to the website for more info.

A friend of mine has a black 99 T/A with some huge cam, a bunch of bolt ons and side exhaust. BUT, hes running stock manifolds for some reason. Hes got flowmaster single chamber mufflers bolted up where the cats would be ( looks like he has cats) then the 3 inch pipe makes a 90 turn and the another 90 and runs the length of the car. Its so g-damn loud

I posted this in on another post but i have a Ws6 and I am going to run this Side skirt http://www.cardomain.com/ride/518658/3 and run an oval Mecham or similiar Exhuast pipe through the INlet hole, probably about a half an inch or so just enough for it to be seen. Would look very nice in my opinion.
