put those SS emblems on it ASAP
painting your z/28 hugger orange...posing? no, you now have a hugger orange z/28

puting zr1's on your z/28...posing? no, you have a z/28 with corvette wheels

puting SS emblems on your z/28...posing? yes, you just tried to fool people into thinking you have an SS

see the difference?

Well what really seperates an SS from a Z28?

They're basically the same aside from a few suspension parts that your gonna change anyway, and some appearance mods which it sounds like you already took care of....So badge if you want, but don't call a true SS, just a clone

not much separates an SS from a z/28. but no matter what you do to a z/28, its never a real SS. (not that SS's are better) its just isn't an SS. you all can do whatever you want to your car. i'm just saying its posing to make your car look exactly like another car even down to the freaking badging...

are you just mad that you paid 2k more for your car when someone could buy a Z and put stick on SSs on it and look like yours?

if you painted your car hugger orange, and it was originaly black, and you told people your car was hugger orange, by your same logic, you shouldnt tell people that its hugger. you should say that its a black car painted hugger and if you say anything diffrently you are lying and degrading the specialness of a hugger car

the guy isnt saying he is going to activly tell everyone he has a real SS, but when he tells people what his gf drives he should say SS if it has the spoiler, wheels, hood and SSs

On second thought, I myself wouldn't put the badges on......but I don't know if its posing, maybe gay though.....its not like the SS is a limited production car, its just a freaking appearance package, just like the WS-6

LOL...way off buddy. i like z's, but i would never have settled for one, not because SS's are faster, because they're not. i did it because i wanted the cream of the crop from camaro. THE SS IS MORE THAN STICK ON LETTERS...and i think that is what you guys are not understanding. you act like you can just throw those badges on a car...thats a sin in my opinion.

you are right...

its a hood, a spoiler, a grille.....two pieces of steel under the car that are still not good enough for racing and some plastic letters

I don't understand your logic? Making you car look like something else and calling it something else are two completely different things. Someone has a Z28 that they made to look like an SS and leaves off the badges is not proclaiming it to be an SS. When they decide to put the badges on there that is pretty much the same thing as telling people that you have an SS. Otherwise what is the point of badges? So people know what kind of car it is. Why even have badges when people are just gonna lie about what the car really is from the factory. Everyone here is smart enough to know that when they see a camaro with an SS hood and spoiler that it isnt neccessarily an SS. When the person has the SS badges to go along with it they can only assume this person isnt lying about their car and in fact it is a true SS.
Lets be honest though, people are gonna do whatever they feel like to their cars and if they feel like they have to have the badges to let everyone know what they dont have then so be it. I wont be losing any sleep over it.

So, by me putting the WS-6 emblem on my car, I am posing? I don't tell anyone that it is a WS-6, I haven't tried to sell the car as a WS-6 and don't plan on doing either one. It is a Trans Am with a ram air hood and a carbon fiber WS-6 badge (which the on;y reason it is on is because it matched the overall look that I was going for with the rims and such). I can completely understand someone buying a fake SS or WS-6 and getting pissed, or someone trying to lie to you about what build their car is, but if no one is doing that then what is the problem?

my car is a good example, i tell people i have a Z28, becuase even when i tell people that i have a B4C they just look at me all glazed over. same thing if i had Z28 badges on my car id tell people i had a Z28. nobody would say "hey man get those off of there thats not a Z" if it has SS hood, spoiler, emblems, and grille you should just say its a SS rather than spend 10 minutes in explanation, and if they ask if its real say "no"

I see your point, but if I was driving a Z28 that had all the same things as an SS that I put on aftermarket I would leave the Z badges. Someone asks me why it says I have a Z28 I would just tell them it is and and the other stuff is bought aftermarket. No point in leading them to believe I have an SS. Cars come with build numbers and rpo codes, no point in disrespecting those or someone else by lying about my car.

I guess to some putting the badging on their is the same thing as claiming it to be an SS. Why even put the badging on there if you arent trying to claim it as one is my point I guess.

Man this thread is gay!! Do what she wants, it's her/your car, I would personally never do it, it's pretty retarded to pretend you have the real deal when you don't. And I'm not mad I paid for the real thing, I have one of 2 optioned the way I did, I have one of 422 (something like that) Hugger Orange SS's, and that's worth more to me than having a base Z28 (and to a potential buyer). I don't like the looks of the Z28, and wouldn't want to put up with poor fitment, paint jobs, etc, etc of adding the parts afterwards.

A couple people in this thread are just blind.
