Default how unsafe is it to put a seatbelt behind your arm?

most of you have seen my new racing seat. I am using the stock belts from our cars. Tonight, I took the stock seat belt holder and put them up towards the headrest of the new seats. They will fit I think and the seat belt will feel more natural instead of by your neck...(that is why the g/f puts it behind her arm, b/c its by her neck). Is it ok to drill into these things? The piece seems like it would hold the plastic holder. What do you think? If this is very dangerous, I probably should do it.

putting the seatbelt under your arm is incredibly dangerous. in a car accident youll break your ribs.

think of this. your playing ice hockey, and someone is skating at you full speed to check you into the boards. what part of their body are they going to be using to do so ? and do you want them to hit you in the ribs ? or would u prefer to go shoulder to shoulder with them ?

now imagine that hockey opponent is a 4000 pound car driven by a drunk @60mp .... and youve got your seatbelt across your ribs, allowing it to slide further down during and impact, which effectivly increases your bodys leverage against the belt

hello broken ribs
hello punctured lungs
hello broken back
hello wheel chair !

Very good point. In this case, I will use the stock seat belt holder and screw it on the new seat. I would never forgive myself is someone was hurt.
