I doubt he'll go that route. It would require him spending at least $15

The torsional strength of the car is compromised. More power will make it worse.

Default Pics

I didn't get any of the "y" pipe. I didn't have the camera.

I've got to take it back down and wrap the pipe, so I may get a pic of it then. Since everyone loves my work so much.

My PCMIA card took a on me, so now I'm running around, stuck in open loop mode, MAF less, running on the VE tables until the keyspan USB to Serial cable gets here. It should be here Friday, and then the tuning will continue.

It may not look the best but at least he is doing something. It is his car and he can do anything he wants with it.

When you get done with it you need to put up some numbers from the track.

Hmmmm, interesting. I'd love to get your guys take on the location of the intake on STS equipped cars. Then again, I guess the problem there would be that the car has an STS in the first place :jester:. He could easily mount a little deflector plate to the bottom of that thing so that any water that splashes up onto the filter doesn't even touch it. Yes it's ugly, but if it works, then oh well. If I were to make something like that I would have gone with something more along the Volant lines. How many miles does that car have? I had a buddy who bought a used Crown Vic from our local Police, and it had like 190k on that 4.6. It ran alright, but it was still a lot of miles.

Default car

The car has 141,000 miles. As someone on this post stated earlier, it's probably worn out. My friend has one, and he wanted to put forged pistons in it, so we tore it down and it still had the cross hatch marks from the honing process. That engine had 140,000 miles, and it was a trooper car also, but of course, it was worn out too right. Since it was so bad, we decided to bore it all the way out to .005 over. It was so terrible, I'm suprised we could salvage the sleeves in the block.

Just in case yall think I'm lying also......I mean, EVERYTHING that someone posts has to have proof and be justified....of course I didn't take a pic of the dash with the mileage, but if I must.....

And that transmission, for some odd reason, just keeps shifting on, and on. It's like, you really can't tell when first stops and second begins, or second stops and third begins if you can hold it in the road long enough.

And of course I had to start taking pics from the beginning of that mark, cause you know I had to breaklock the car to get it to spin.....or is it the fact that I have to rev it up to 5000 rpms and slam it in drive from neutral to get it to start spinning.....from all the water damage from the CAI....

Free sexy rusted flowmaster, free sexy cold air induciton system, free homemade "y" pipe, free diy tuning, that **** will never work.

Still waiting on the hood, so I'm doing nothing but a little sanding and tuning.

if he gets in a front end wreck, that core support is going to fold in half real nicely. im wondering if his insurance company would say anything about it..

dmoss, I am not trying to be a dick, but hear me out on this.

My 150hp 1991 MR2 with 186K on the clock and a busted-to-**** transmission can do a burnout just like that. All you have to do is bust the wheels loose and keep it pegged while in low gear.

Burnt rubber is a bad index of power.

That being said, there are plenty of fast cars in chitown whose mods don't exactly look beautiful enough for the pages of GMHTP. Take some vids of it at the track running quick passes. That'll get a more positive response.
