Can I use JB weld to put a hood scoop on my hood

Hey guys I was wondering if jb weld would be fine to use to hold a plastic hod scoop on my RX7s aluminum hood. I will be media blasting the hood before hand and cutting a hole in it to clear a victor jr/ air cleaner I will have in there. I will be using one of those universal scoops found on summitracing or ebay and then I will be painting the hood.
Let me know if this is ok or if its ricer. I figure its ok to use a good epoxy like Jb weld when some body kit peices are held on with double stick tape.

pics of these scoops?
dont know what scoop I'de use yet.. but I dont want to rivet it in place and I would like to keep the light weight of a plastic scoop.... epoxying it seems like the best option to bond aluminum to plastic

body pieces held on with double stick tape FLY OFF. I wouldn't risk it with JB weld either. Why not drill holes? You can always have the holes filled in the hood later at a body shop. Much safer in my opinion, and if you think using rivits will actually weigh enough to effect your car's performance, you have A LOT to learn, LOL
Why have a fake hoodscoop anyway?

The extra weight and effort came from either using a steel hood with a steel scoop or maing a hood scoop out of aluminum and getting it tigged at a shop for big bucks.
Rivets and screws kinda look like crap but I guess its a better option. This car will be seeing 160mph so I need the scoop to be on there firm.. I am not using a fake scoop.. I am just using a plastic scoop. They are made of some high density urethane, which is plenty strong.

Rivet it on and use body filler over the rivets and smooth it out to hide them if you don't think you'll ever have to remove the scoop. Atleast it would look like the scoop was part of the hood after you painted it.

RICER !! RICER !! RICER !!
At least its on a Mazda and not a Camaro type vehicle
Don't use glue to hold a hood scoop on .. It's gonne fly off, hit you in the face, and your gonna realize how dumb that was -- Rivet it on
BTW:
The only other people that do this are SHITSTANGS other than Ricers.

shitstangs huh....i dont know how you got MUSTANGS into this topic but as he was saying it is a FUNCTIONAL scoop going on a car that is going to see 160 MPH....anyways
i say rivet and then use body filler and smooth it...i think that would look the best
post some pics when you are done!

I think thats what I am gonna end up doing, thanks. It will deff be functional.. The point of it is to create a cold/ram air intake. If it wasnt functional I wouldent waste my time with a hood scoop at all.
The only reason I ask about the glue is because I know there are epoxies out there that are strong enough to do this sort of thing plus much more.

Ok, I'll be nice... JB WELD WILL NOT HOLD **** ON LET ALONE A SCOOP AT ANY SPEED!
3M tape will give you better odds, JB Weld won't really bond they way you want it to (as an epoxy).
There's some stuff they're using now that is like a liquid weld for min-tubs and stuff, that might hold.
I personally would fiberglass, screw, or dzus clip it on
