Superhawk hood on. 22 pics, the motherload(56K trouble...)
Well just picked it up yesterday from Roger out in Gettysburg PA. It was about a 4 hour drive each way, but totally worth it. Got to check out his shop and bullshit with him for over an hour. Roger is really a great guy to deal with. First class all the way.
He told me he plans on producing only about 40 or 50 of these hoods ever, so if you are thinking about getting one, you better act fast since mine is #24. He is trying to transition into making mostly viper parts so who knows how long he'll be making f-body hoods. I got to see the prototype hood that he is thinking of releasing next for the 98-02 fbody after the superhawk run ends. I didnt take any pictures of it, but let me say this thing is wild looking and youll either love it or hate it. Also got to see the viper hood he is building for Hulk Hogan and a prototype hood for a new F-series truck special edition that some dealers are going to be carrying soon.
Here is the hood mounted on my car. I didnt get a chance to adjust the fit yet, but once i do its gonna look really good. Let me mention this is EXACTLY how it comes from Roger. I didnt do a single thing except bolt it on. The shiny gel coat is from him. Im gonna get it painted soon, maybe something with some black stripes because it looks good with my black top and tinted windows. If you wanna see more pictures or a specific angle let me know and ill take the pic and get it up. I tried to include all the body gap pics because people always want to see that, and like i said once i adjust the bumper cover a little the gap will be even smaller... What do you think?

Its kinda hard to describe but ill try. The front blends the two nostrils into one "sunglasses shape" nostril with mesh in the entire thing. So instead of two or four nostrils, it has one big oval one, but the lower center part of the oval has a raised part which makes it look kinda "sunglasses" shaped. [if that makes any sense. kinda like the ultra z slp hood for camaro, one big vent in the front but matches the body lines]. the top then has a large functional heat extractor cut in it in a square shape. picture one big one of these in the middle of the hood instead of these two small ones. its that shape.

Hood looks pretty good! I just wanted to point out a few things. When you align the hood, you really should not need to adjust the front bumper cover. Obviously if you have some sort of issues with the cover you might have to, but you really only need to adjust the hinges and the bump stops. I'm not knocking on Roger's work at all, I've seen his hoods before and they are pretty nice. And FWIW the gelcoat is applied by alot of fiberglass hood companies.

No problems with the bumper cover, im just gonna play with tightening it up a little more to eliminate some of the gap. Gonna adjust everything a little better once its painted and on there for good. Im not trying to say that us exotics is the only company that does the black gelcoat, but i will say that the better ones do. I know VFN does, and i think the harwood from Jegs comes in black gelcoat. The ones that come in white or gray make it easier to hide defects, waves, etc...
