Experimental Lowering Technique, does this look good?

I've always had the idea of moving the wheel wells up, lowering it/fit nice wheels/tires/brakes in them and rounding it around the tire at the bottom. I'm sure my dad could make up the fenders/quarters without too much trouble (third-gen - steel, although fiberglass might be nice too); not sure how willing he would be though, he keeps asking why I want to lower it because it's "low enough already" - keep in mind there's a three inch gap above the tire .
I think your photoshop looks awesome, but would look a lot cooler if you wrapped the panels around the wheel too. Of course, raising it up would go out the door, but if you could photoshop it, it would be sweet to see.
The skid plates are a cool idea, never occurred to me though. I remember I was off-roading with my friend one time when he got the thing completely stuck sitting on a rock. We ended up getting pulled off, but when we got a look under it, the skid plate just had a tiny little scratch in it with no real damage what-so-ever.
I'll say go for it if you have the skill to make the fenders/quarters look good. Maybe you can have some real fun with the front end too. Cut the factory metal completely away and make the shock mounts out of tubing coming from the firewall

I got this at one RC forum. Looks awesome! If you like one thing to do is to fabricate a whole shell like this and fit it over, lets say an old Corvette? It would be simpler and even cheaper.

or like this?
You can only wrap them so much before they rub the tire.
Actually, it may not be a good idea to do that. It's fine if the car is at a single height, but I will be dropping it down when parked and lifting it when driving. One way or the other it will look out of place.

Okay. If you know someone who knows his way around fiberglass you could fabricate a whole new shell following that TA (RC one) body. Using an old Vette, for example you can then transfer this shell to the Vette. This would be easier than trying to chop your car. Think of it as a kit car. If done well you will have a TA made by the Devil himself!!

If I had the time and the money and do a mid engine conversion to it, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.
