Default W00T for sound deadening....

dunno if this goes in appearance...

120 sq feet. took me 4 hours from the time i pulled into the garage to the time i pulled out, however i need to finish off the trunk(do 2 layers for stereo) and then add some to the back of all the interior panels, install them then do the doors. for the time spent tho, i got a TON done.

How much does all that way? That's the only thing keeping me from doing it.

My dumps pretty much destroy any hope of deadening the engine sound. Lol.

that looks like ed sound dampner, i used that in my hatch area and i too aggree, it was a big improvement, not big on sound but just how much better my music sounded and how now it pushs the sound to the front as too without ed, the sound just seemed to go everywhere, i plan to buy more of this stuff and use it on the doors and on the rear seat speaker areas. im sure adding to the floor would quite her down a bit. you did a great job, when i did mine it looks all chopped up cause i would cut in smaller pieces.

Are you guys using this to make your sterio sound better or to keep the road noise out. My car has soooo much road noise on the highway, I would live to use this stuff if it'll help that out????

well pretty much all done. i gotta toss a few more interior pieces in but otherwise its done.

it's Elemental Designs eDead se.2. 65 mils thick. cost me like 175 for 120 feet. unfortunately im gonna need to buy more (wanna do 2 layers in the trunk).

but yes it helps the sound of the stereo immensely and keeps road noise out WAY better than without it. this stuff turned my loudmouth into a magnaflow

and i also had 2600 watts pushing 2 15" subs, and outside the car you could barely tell there was anything in there, all the sound was kept in the car and sounded awesome. o and ya, there was almost NO rattle from the trunk (lots of deadening everywhere such as behind liscence plates, taillights, fuel door etc.)

For the people asking about weight:
I laid 160sq.ft. of Second Skin's Damplifier in my car.
It weighed in at a tad over 82lbs for the 160sq.ft. including the wax paper.
I still have yet to do the doors so I'm looking at probably adding around 100lbs to the car.

I bought it figuering it would quite done all the shakes and rattles. It doesn't do that, not sure if its meant for this. But it does make your car sound system sound 2-3 times better especially the bass cause the bass doesn't bounce every where? and directs the bass to the front. I know you may have heard someone say, "with the car windows down you can hear more bass" well this was true with my car system untill i added the sound deadner. Its great stuff that i'd recommend. I think i added, some 30 pounds by doing the rear hatch only. I plan on doing what the original thread starter did.
