Default Washing car in front yard... with HARD WATER???

Any of you wash your ride in your front yard? I've been considering it, but I have HARD water. For example, I can take a clear glass and fill it up in the kitchen... its BLURY. And NO I don't drink it.. yuck.

Anyhow, would it be safe to wash my Camaro with this water?

I'd rather not take a trip up to the local car wash every weekend, as I can easily spend 2+ hours washing my car, and that's not even waxing it (OCD).

Right now my paint/clear is crystal clear... the car has been garaged most of it's life. I don't want to ruin my paint!

Thoughts??

Also, I hear Zaino makes great products? What do I need to buy, and where do I get it? Do they have a Claybar kit too?

Is this a DD? If it isn't I don't see how you have to wash it every weekend. Either way I would take it to the car wash. Do they make a filter type deal that you can put on your hose to clean up the water any?

No it isn't my DD... but I exaggerated a little. I probably wash it once every 2-3 weeks.

I have just been driving it a lot lately, and parking under trees that drop sap on it doesn't help... no way in hell I'm letting that stuff stay on my paint

Good question on the filter, I'll have to check around. I'm probably going to keep going to the car wash, I just wanted to see what all of you do with your rides!

They do make a filter that you can find at the local hardware store .

Do you also have rust in the water? Sometimes hard water will etch all of the glass, it is really noticeable if your windows are tinted. It will stain the glass, and is very hard to remove.

you can put a filter on your outdoor faucet, I've heard of some people that will buy the Mr. Clean auto dry just for the filtered water to wash their car with, also the spray and washes around your area (most of the time) use filtered water as well.

Just keep the whole car wet until you dry it. Don't give it time to dry on there.

best answer is to get one of these.

http://www.spotfreeh2o.com/models.htmlthere are cheaper places to get them online, so don't buy directly from them, but it is a good place to look.

there are cheaper solutions, but in this case, you get what you pay for.

You could try Optimums No Rinse wash. You add 2 cap fulls to a 2 gallon bucket of water.... then you wash 1 section at a time without spraying the car down at all with a hose. The Optimum No Rinse has softeners in it. The stuff works great and you can wash a car in no time at all.
