Sheepskin mitt is the way to go, along with a grout sponge from Home Depot (et. al.) for the lower fender/sideskirt/bumper areas.

I'm gonna have to disagree on the foam mitt being better than sheepskin. Sheepskin has a much longer nap allowing for a much greater area for dirt to reside without getting in between the fibers and the car's surface, whereas the foam mitt still has the squares that can trap it between them and the surface causing scratches. It's not a bad mitt, but I don't think it's as safe as a sheepskin.

You can get a sheepskin mitt anywhere.

Absolutely.

Microfiber mitts and sponges are bad news. Just get a good, high quality lambs wool mitt. They do the best job, and even the high quality ones are only $10 or so.

Microfibers hold dirt and scratch your car up..

Grout sponges work great and wont scratch your car. Cost 2 bucks and last forever. If anyone wants the huge research thread on the grout sponge let me know.

I love the Microfibers! The one i have has 2 sides and use one for the top half of the car and from the door moldings down i flip it to the other side. I have never had any problems with it holding dirt or anything else. If you drop it on the ground i can see you having a problem but im careful with mine.

The problem is in the nap of the MF. It doesn't have anything to do with dropping it or not. Dirt just has less place to go in an MF than with sheepskin.
