Looks like a nice product. But why $50 more for a 4L65E?

And if we are comparing converters, most other companies/sponsors offer a 2-3 year warranty.

First of all welcome to the site Eric.

I think the difference might be between the ls1 and lt1 style converters if I had to guess. There are many companies that refer to LS1 style as a 4l65e. I'm sure Eric will chime in to confirm this. Vince

Hey Vince,

Thanks a lot for the greeting- we appreciate that!

As for an explanation on the price difference between the two, the converter we produce for the 4L65E is slightly different inside. The 4L60E concurrently produced along with its strengthened "siblings", the 4L65-E and the 4L70E. They share most components and improvements together. If I recall correctly, the 4L65E was introduced in 2001 as an HD version of the 4L60E. It has a stronger planetary and a strength-improved output shaft (and a better converter)

We also price things according to demand. The 4L60's are not as plentiful as the newer 4L65s and the even later 6L80! It's simple business really.

If you give us a call we will see what we can do (hint hint wink wink).

Not meant to be abrasive, what experience do you have building converters and knowledge to get the correct stall on different combinations? Again not meant as critisizm.

Thanks for joining the site.

does this converter address the tcc issues many people are having with the 6L80e trans and the aftermarket converters? and do you have any experience tuning the 6l80e trans tcm to make the converter function like factory (wot tcc apply) without slipage or tcc apply and unlocking?

i dont have any issues with my yank but i have the wot tcc apply turned off as recomended by yank. and just use the tcc at hwy speeds in 4th-6th gear

I did not realize you guys were transmission & converter experts.I would love to see how you build the converters you produce and your whole operation.

yes our tuner has tuned aftermarket 6l80s with adjusting the lockup at WOT on aftermarket converters. we have found for the new 6l80s that sticking with a tighter converter helps with some issues, addtionally our 6L80 converters are built with an aftermarket clutch that is stronger then the stock unit, it should not have any issues with locking at WOT. close to 25 of these 6l80 converters have been sold and we have not had one problem reported yet.

Well, I don't want to cause another reason to possibly break anything, but after the next PBIR Challenge Race, I will contact you on going from my TCI SF3200 to your LW3600.

I have about 14k miles and over 100 passes on it right now.

Your product looks good and I'm sure more details are available, but better spoken then typed.

PBIR Challenge Series info below:

That looks like a "spaceship" converter. As in it has a factory front with a smaller pump.
And a billet "front plate"

That converter does not have a billet front.

If you can build converters why can't you get back to my PM with a picture of the inside of the front cover?

That converter in the picture is a spaceship converter. It has a stock 12" front and a stock 9" pump joined with an adapter, and some ingenius idea of a billet plate on the front to cover up the stock core.

I'll spend more with a company who shows pictures in their first introduction post rather than someone who can't even provide them when requested.

Thats clever legal advertising listing a billet front "plate".
You can't list a billet front cover because these are made from stock cores.
